Now with the government taking over our banks, I honestly believe we have bigger issues to worry about in America. Let's allocate these billions in a wasteful drug war over to more effective programs and put all these drug dealers out of business by legalizing Marijuana and taxing it just like tobacco! I'm not saying Cannabis is completely benign or for children (unless authorized by a doctor) but if it wasn't a relatively safe and effective medication do you think The American College of Physicians, 124,000 strong, would release a position paper endorsing medical marijuana in Feb 08.

John McCain is a WWII vet, and back then they thought all pot led to 'reefer madness.' So I would not expect him to have much of an understanding or sympathy for medical marijuana. I feel he gave an honest answer, though.
Only when Vietnam War came along did our servicemen and women start
