good to see interest is still ripe in this video! i posted last year on this. in my findinds, if you attach a wooden pipe to the shell about a meter long, with a bore of 18, you can achieve a lot more musical range and you can also over blow it into a raw. hard to describe. i can send you a sound file of me demonstrating, just message me if you would like to hear it :-) or possibly a few pics of my shell instruments !

Alright, nine chords compared to the countless number of chords played in most jazz pieces.

And if I sucked at theory as much as you seem to think I do, I wouldn't know that the song you had to so rashly comment on had five chords, although that's not important.

On my video I even apologized for the poor singing, and the ukulele playing was spot on.

Half the reason the singing sounds so bad is due to the feedback on the shitty camera I have.

You need to know about 3x more musical theory to figure jazz out. it isnt just chromatics up and down. its more than that. you need to know ur shit if you want to get Jazz down. i play the piano proffessionally and am extremley schooled in jazz. check the vid were i play FOOTPRINTS on my shell with some famous philly jazz cats? I am very good at many types of music, but yes, I think jazz is gay and blues is far to easy. That's why I jam. Jam music employs all the theory and improvization as jazz but used for music the listening public actualy likes.Jazz sucks so much now cuz it's tuaght in school. All music was better before nerds got degrees in it and started teaching.

Jam bands are rock bands that improvise a lot. Jazz is ok, but i have a distaste for music I learned in school such as jazz and classical, it does'nt express my soul, that's all. I still play older instruments, such as piano and trumpet, but I use them in jam rock.

By moving your hands in and out of the shell, mostly. A few of the notes are formed by overblowing, but unlike tradional brass intruments the conch employs little overblowing. It's all in the hand positions!
