um, he gained weight for movie roles he had going on the side. if you look at him now, he's managed to lose a lot of it. he's always gained or lost weight for a role. he's a method actor, it's what makes him so good...
I love Vincent D'Onofrio. I think he's an amazing actor, a genius, an actor's actor. But... It isn't healthy to being overweight and a smoker. As his fan, I really, really want to see him losing more weight and QUITTING smoking. We must care about our beloved stars, you know? We should start a campaign to tell him that we love him too much that we want to see him taking on a healthier lifestyle, because we want to have him for good. What do you think?

He had originally gained the weight for a movie role, but since he's older it probably took longer to lose the weight. He did lose some in this past season...

ANyway, I feel his weight gain is from aging and stress. He gained alot of weight and his hair really turned grey. It seemed to all have happened fairly quickly too. Stress is the major reason, no question about it!
