@Balnazzardi - LOL i always hear the same thing when talking about hamilton's penalty at spa 08 from kimi fans. The rules only say to give back the position, that's it! Hamilton lifted to give kimi back the position but then stepped on the throttle quickly so as not to lose momentum. The only thing that should matter is that Hamilton cut the corner unfairly but then gave back the position - nothing more. So why the penalty?

@Balnazzardi - The judges saw it in that way but that doesn't change the fact that it was ridiculous, and that Hamilton clearly deserved to win it. I have my own theory about the penalty, it was simply a blatant championship showdown fixing so Hamilton wouldn't run away with the title and the poor ferrari drivers would have a chance. But yes good thing Hamilton won in the end though. I'm not even a lewis fan, so when i defend him it should mean something.

by the way, renault team name was RENAULT GP because want to follow MERCEDES GP .. but PROTON from MALAYSIA was bought the GROUP LOTUS and SPONSOR the team RENAULT GP and becoming LOTUS RENAULT.. but the default name still RENAULT GP and LOTUS name just main sponsor like PETRONAS.. but GROUP LOTUS was blame TEAM LOTUS because using name of LOTUS without permission, thats why TONY FERNANDES decide give up the case and bought CATERHAM to the F1 :)

Just like FORCE INDIA is FORCE INDIA MERCEDES. Its the team name then the engine supplier. As you don't know F1 here are more examples, RED BULL RENAULT, McLAREN MERCEDES. FERRARI and MERCEDES are the name and engine supplier so have just one name. Im glad i can educate you on F1, And hope you watch the sport next year.

And if you really follow the sport, you should know LOTUS will be called LOTUS F1 but on any official timing pages, articles, they will be called LOTUS RENAULT. Team name AND engine supplier.

@Inhumanity88 Yeah, literally around the next corner, 20 seconds later he puts it in a wall. Was an amazing fight between Hamilton and Raikkonen, unbelieveable that Hamilton got a 25 second penalty though. It really shows how biast the FIA are. (In my opinion.)

If YOU actually watch the race, he got an an advantage from cutting the chicane. He got a much greater run out of the corner, considering Raikkonen was accelerating from a much lesser initial velocity.

@IrishRu5T The chicane that Hamilton had to cut, as he was around the outside of Kimi SIDE BY SIDE and Kimi was giving him no room, was Bus Stop. That chicane, as I am sure you know, comes onto the pit straight. That is where he let him through.

It was lucky too, he got an armful of oversteer just before hamilton ran wide, if he didnt run wide he would have shunted into the back of him. But if anybody got lucky it was Massa, he ended up winning after Kimi crashed out and Lewis got a penalty.
