Thats really good for faster greens..in my course. forget about it..=) you aren't getting anywhere with a short stroke unless you hit it with your hands.
Try this on greens that stimp at 5 or less and see how far it gets you. The "with a little bit of practice" is misleading at best, dishonest at worst. Putt like Ben Crenshaw if you want a stroke that works for all speeds.
This is what I do........I choke up on my putter.....alot!!!!!!!!! I'm talking bout all the way so that one hand is on the metal (using interlocking grip) this helps me on the backstroke (used to my prob.....it wouldn't go back straight) now my putts are super straight. Distance needs work though. Also bend over when choking up
This guys is good ! After putting thousands and thousands of balls, I find that putting may have some fundamentals, but that it's more situational. When I play now, I look at the putt and pretty much let my instincts take over. Thinking too much about mechanics only promotes the yips, pushes, pulls, and other stress-related faults.
You will always leave putts short staying connected like that in the through swing, left shoulder will ride too high which decelerates the putter head, it is lifting through impact.
no \/ this guy is wrong. ben crenshaw (possibly the greatest putter ever) has a long and slow putting stroke. Dave stockton promotes long and slow. and opening and closing of the putter face is natural. keeping it square to square is a manipulation. wow, this guy is an idiot.
When I was a junior golfer my putting was the best part of my game, now it's my worst, hopefully this will help me get back on track...looks like its helped others
Thank you for the basics! I am a VERY "beginner-golfer"... I appreciate the simplicity of this instruction. I think I can really take it out on the green and improve my aim and direction.

Very good lesson. The tucking in of elbows really takes out the wrist action and put the stroke in the shoulders. Great!!
