I thought it would be boring. It turned out to be an awesome and emotional adventure. This is like the movie Sunshine for having emotional scenes and its own soundtrack/background-music that makes you feel something. While in Sunshine the people travel to the Sun (away from Earth), the people in this movie travels towards and into the Earth. I'm a very picky person when it comes to movies and I say this goes to my favourite lists. If you like Sunshine and Titanic, you will love this. ^^

I saw this film and enjoyed it, but then, I have an avid interest in speology and the mystery of the subterranean unknown! The film is based somewhat on a true event concerning a cave-dive team that met with unfortunate disaster. 'Sanctum' is a good action flick..not a rehash of the 'Descent' variety or of 'The Cave'... so, no creepy beasties hiding in the depths to endanger the team of cavers, just natural danger... and human error! It's an interpretation of what real caving is about!

They used the caves in High Springs, FL. I'm pretty sure it was the Ginnie Springs Cave system, at least for the underwater filming parts.

They shot the cave sequences in Australia. However, two years ago James Cameron came down to Ginnie and did a 12 minute 3D demo movie to pitch the concept to the Studio. Last week in North Florida "Cave Country" I attended a special screening and they showed the demo video. Also, got to meet the producer/writer of the movie.
