You need to do some serious research. I suggest you visit mala mala's website and go to 'sightings diary'. Click on Dec 14-21 2006 and read and see pictures regarding a hyena and leopard encounter. The result: an almost dead hyena. They can't fight one on one with those cats never mind a 300 lb lioness.

i hope you're talking about the spotted hyena and not the smaller striped hyena. There could also be other variables. A adolescent Hyena? How hungry it was? If it was starving it would try much harder to take on the leopard.( of course) In most cases a leopard would drop its kill to avoid a serious confrontation with the spotted hyena. Hyena's are the second of the top predators next to lions. Keep this in mind.
