Is there an instrument you do not play well, Peter? This was simply beautiful! I believe Kathleen would have been deeply pleased with this!!!! I will have to look up more of her music.... her voice has a quality and richness to it that is, as you say, so pure and honest.... almost angelic. Thank you for sharing this amazing lady with us!
At the risk of sacrilege I must say that this accompanied version of Kathleen Ferrier is quite well accomplished. It is nice, but not for the purists, of which I am normally one.
When I firs found this I was nervous of even starting the video - Ferrier is indeed sacred ground for me and for many others. But... I enjoyed this very much, your gentle accompaniment is beautifully judged and must come from a huge respect and affection. There are very few singers who could communicate the emotion so directly yet remain so musicianly in their phrasing... what you have done here seems a loving tribute to Miss Ferrier, thank you for that
Exquisite accompaniment. I have been listening to Kathleen since I was 12. Kathleen singing "What is life to me without thee" brings tears to the eyes. She died too young. I play the Celtic harp and also sing Blow the Wind. She has been an inspiration to me. I met her sister at a book signing in Richmond, UK, in the early 90s. Thank you.
"Blow the wind Southerly' was one of the songs that were played on my fathers funeral, four years ago. While looking for Ferriers solo performance I stumbled across your ovely version. It's very beautiful, thank you.

Oh, Peter...it's breathtakingly perfect, from both halves of the calendar.
It's a joy to see you too in relative HD. The performance is sublime
from the both of you: equals in temperament.

Wow.. such a strange vocal style. I like it though. Excellent work on the harp.
