when penn and tellers series of activities came to an end, i noticed that richard started to slowly gravitate towards the box near the dart board. i have a hunch that his act, especially the hand written prediction, might have involved a person, most likely a child, who assisted him by writing the scores in the box. i also think that when richard made physical contact with the box towards the end, the person in the box either slipped it under his hand or slipped it into richards shoe.. thoughts?
cant be at the podium if the rock paper scissors game isn't even over.. and have the person write that paper saying "teller wins" with it not even over.. unless she just wrote whatever adn took the 50/50 shot on the wins part
It happened when he walked over to the podium when they are doing paper siccors rocks. He is behind it looking down. My prediction assistant in the podium.
It's definitely an assistant. This trick is obviously not as illusive to the mind as he'd like it to be. It also has something to do with his shoe in terms of a false bottom and the trick on a whole isn't very creative.
@norik0 actually I knew exactly how he does this trick at the the time I wrote my post. It's a pretty sad trick to be honest. Let me just say this. You're not seeing a lot of the stage changes going on, and other people present on stage.
During rock paper scissors he walks beside the black box for no apparent reason. At 5:53 he edges close enough for the person inside the box to place one slip of paper in each back pocket where the paper then slides into the shoes. The slip in the right shoe says “teller wins!” and the left one says “Penn wins!” So he told Jonathon to look in the right shoe...
somebody else wrote the predictions, the handwriting is very good so it couldn't be done secretly I'd say a kid is in the black box writing the predictions
*POSSIBLE SPOILER* At 7:08, when the host makes the German accent joke he messes with his belt as if to fool around with taking them off as a joke. When he does that you can see him drop and jiggle the paper down his pant leg? I'm no magician, that is just my 2cents...don't be mad :O
I was made aware of this trick through an email from a well-known magic supplier. The demo video was included a slightly edited version of Penn's response to the trick. Overall, I like the impact, but I can see that there are elements (one in particular) that will cause this trick to upset a lot of those teenagers who buy tricks to show their friends at school. The supplier that was advertising this will get a lot of complaints over the next few months - this trick is for the pros, not the kids.
Hi Dean, Yes, it's now available for pre-order on our website for shipping in September 2011. Richards a nice chap and did get a knock back when he appeared in the January version of the show… It was good to seem him come back with such a stellar performance!
Will this trick be avilable to buy at any point, oir is he keeping it to himself:) On another note, I've heard a lot of people say P&T riped him apart first time around, I thought they were very polite and complimented him on the handling of his effect.

That's not entirely fair. Penn and Teller were busy being a part of the trick.

This is how i think its done:
He secretly writes it on the paper and when he is fixing his belt he puts the paper into a tube leading to his shoe!

I know this sounds dumb... But cant someone lie and say that Penn and Teller are wrobg?
iFknLoveSwat 6 months ago
@iFknLoveSwat No, the people performing tell the producers how the trick is done, and if the person lies, the producers contact Jonathan and so on xD
