His problem was that he tried to imitate Srila Prabhupada and therefore PRETENDED to be on the highest platform. The original 11 gurus in ISKCON claimed to be assistant maidservants of the gopis. They wouldn't let anyone else become gurus, took on too many disciples, and suffered all the reactions resulting from that. The stupidist bunch of fools, Prabhupada said he had monkey disciples at the end. I guess this proves it. Stop pretending to be more advanced than you are and stop cheating!
I think that Harikesa Swami was great guru. We also must be responsible and not blame other for our mistakes. Guru will help us, but we are in charge.

I meet this swami back in the 80ties and he was worshipped like a God and his arrogance knew no limit, I remember on one occasion where he had to be hospitalised, because he claimed that his inner organs (heart, lungs) etc had disseapered!!!. Later I read on website that he had become a multimillionare after leaving ISCKON.

But I just cannot believe how he had brainwashed some people, that after he abused so many people for so long and basically admitted it after it had finally hit him back, they are still worshipping his ghost. well he was probably brainwashed himself back then, this guy was in Slovenia in 1991 at a concert and the other singers (also with shaved heads) were doing much better then him. I mean the music isn't bad but his voice is not melodic at all :P

I used word "guru" in common sense.
BTW, Harikesh was as good or as bad as lots of
other "gurus" - be them from ISKCON, Gaudiya Math etc.
They were/are instrumental to start you up
and probably that's about it.
