More of your repetetive drivel. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that all things vampire related in film or television have in some way been influenced by Nosferatu, we get that. What I say to you is, review the fucking film! It's pretty high on your list so tell us why it's such a great fucking film, which it is! '1001 movies to see before I die' ? If I watch another one of your inane ramblings, I fear I probably will die. Seriously, give it up man.
@crazyassassassin wow you really have issues if you take issue with something I did two years ago. I mean you must have totally missed that I did this two years ago and that I've clearly stopped doing these reviews. Also Jackson Pollock liked to drink!
I love this film... creepy and engaging, a true classic of the vampire genre! The womanizing Dracula is corny compared to this original. I'd have to agree with your comments, as "Nosferatu" is something of a model for the Master in early Buffy episodes, who I think actually managed to be more disgusting than Max Shreck.
By the way, it seems like you are sort of doing these in chronological order, so you probably haven't gotten to it yet, but do you plan to do a review of Carl Theodore Dreyer's "The Passion of Joan of Arc"? If not, then you probably haven't seen it. If you haven't, YOU MUST!
I disagree. A Dracula film had been made prior to this(before Bela Lugosi's 1931 role) so it's not like if Nosferatu hadn't been made that there wouldn't have EVER been other vampire films. That's a pretty HUGE leap on your part.
That said, Max Schreck (literally "Max Terror") was indeed the creepiest performer for ANY character in any film at any time. The guy does not blink at any time on camera. How he does this is almost superhuman. He'll give some people nightmares, he's so creepy.
i love this movie. the first timne i seen it i was like 9. i have it on dvd. but it doesn't have the original music. it has type o negative. i think it fits better.
Where can you buy this film? I have been looking everywhere for it and no luck :( I am fascinated by Vampires and the history of Dracula, so this is obviously a must see...
Ahh yes now that I think of it I believe I had read this somewhere. Thanks for the info regardless hope you keep watching. I think my review for Haxan will be my best review thus far.
First saw that movie when I was around 12 years old in the mid/late 70's on the local PBS station late at night.Bought a decent copy of the public domain version on a "quality label" VHS,company called Kartes Video Communications, back in the mid-80's from Waldenbooks. Now have the Image DVD release, but looking into "double dipping", from the reviews, the new Kino release is even better! Good thing the Bram Stoker estate didn't succeed in their quest to have EVERY copy of the film destroyed!
See this is why I'm doing these reviews I never knew that about the Bram Stoker Estate trying to destroy the copies of the film, what was their reason to do so?

At the time, Bram Stoker's estate still owned the rights to "Dracula", which Nosferatu was based on. They claimed copyright infringment.
