I like it as instrumental more just because focuses on the amazing riff. This song belongs in a cartoon, probably a theme song. I wish the song would dwell into the simple, 2 note bass line at some point because it has such a nice, fat rhythm.

while the instrumental is (currently) my favorite Zappa tune, the version with the lyrics is just SOOOO MUCH BETTER!

Great version! I wish they kept the lyrics and the piratey arrangement on this... Do you know if there are any live versions with the lyrics or that sound more like this version?

@mocthezuma This song was never played live unfortunetly. It only appeared during these rehearsals, and of course as an instrumental on The Man From Utopia album.

@YourArf I bet there's something in the vault. Everything is in the vault. Was never played live? Why? The version on Man From Utopia is a brilliant piece of intrumental music. If they didn't play this live, someone else should. Lets find Dweezil and give him some orders.

@YourArf It was never recorded live* I doubt Zappa didn't play this song live at least once. He changed the set list all the time.
