@Svyat57 Very very VERY few of today's artists can hold a candle to these gems. It is analogically comparable to an oyster rarely spitting out a black pearl that carries the same weight and value to yesterdays pearls of the 40s 50s and early 60s eras.
@bdl02111982 And I will be 30 years old this coming saturday the 11th, so I'm not much older than you are and I agree, most of todays music and the music produced when I was your age, was and still is overly commercialized crap.
See, at least computer games are good at something. They teach kids what a classic music is. And the best part is that it seems that kids love it! WIN!
I remember when I was in Vietnam and me and my company were listening to my radio and this song came on after all those years its still a better song then these songs today .
I usually listen to metal, although I like many styles in music, especially almost anything 80's ... My girlfriend said that this was a "gay song" and I said "no, it's an excellent song, honey"
@zhred The best one in the whole world, the love of my life. But I don't really think that she understands the beauty of old music like this. I listen stuff like The Righteous Brothers and Frank Sinatra as well, and she doesn't understand that music neither.
@Wacke666 Thats awesome ! yeah me to, i can really understand the old folks, its much more relaxing music then nowadays mtv music. Most of the people just doesnt care about the history. I think thats to bad for them :)
@Wacke666 I got a girlfriend too... not yet, though, but I love her, and she loves me... if you want to know, who is it, or what is her name, you better got a Facebook account, ´cause I ain´t telling ´bout her in here... send a message, not an answer to this comment, a capiche?
I've always been a fan of music from the 60's - 80's. Thanks to Mafia II, for introducing me to some very "cool" 50's and to "dig" some 40's tracks. Now I've expanded my interest from the 40's - 80's.
who the fuck is this guy? there's literally no record of him on the internet... same with the guy who sing 900 miles
nice work by the music researchers on this game going as obscure as possible, although this isn't really a good song, it's just a bit unusual cause the singer's jamaican sounding
@busessuck1 it could be that he wasn't a very popular artist even if he put out many records. in fact i wanted to buy roy hamilton on cd and i actually found a vinyl version before i finally found an old cd in this creepy record store. so he might no be as popular as dean martin, eddie cochran,or the other artists in the game but the producers liked his sound so they put him in the game. =D
Always loved the 50's, Now that Mafia 2 is out i hope more people will get into these absolutely wonderful songs. Only 15 but i was raised with music like this. I was most definitely born in the wrong decade.
im 17 been listening and appreciating music such as this since i was 8-9 and everytime i listen it just reminds me of such a simple time where it felt free. didnt always have to worry bout some Gnagbanger trying to kill you or psycho's, and everything just was beautiful when America had pride!
@Constantgamer The homicide rate in the 1950s was around 4.9 homicides per 100,000 people. In 2008 it was only 5.4 homicides per 100,000 people. For the most part the crime rate today is extremely close to the rate of the 50s, excluding the categories of rape and domestic violence(which were underreported in the 1950s). Rest easy.
@dietrite123 yea i know but just how simple it was.... idk there wasn't all this technology and everything.... as i said things were just simple you know?
@SMDB82 actually they still do its called swing 1270 am tune it on ur radio or visit their website and listen live all they play is songs from mafia 2(50's songs)

They don't make music that good these days and I don't care if I sound old im 16 and still I like this music more than modern music.
I mean really can you compare any of today's artists to this ?

@202bigchris Better to be born in the 1940's... that way, by then, you'd be a teen in the 1950's... ;)
... and then a 20-something in the 1960's, which is/was even better!
