Incredible CGI?!? Sure, Kong wasn't bad at all, but anyone else remember the dinosaur stampede? That was just painful to watch! It looked no better than a modern day video game (possibly on steroids, but still). Then you have the cast. Watts? She's ok. Brody and Back? Both horribly miscast for this movie. Black's line delivery in the ending scene:"it was beauty killed the beast"...NO NO NO!!! This moment should feel bigger, grander - emotionally significant. This film failed on so many levels.

I think if I were to rate the theatrical release of Kong a three out of five stars because they edit out some of the most famous scenes for unnessecarry Venture scenes, but the "King Kong Deluxe Extended edition" I give a solid 4 out of 5. Count out being so long and I say 4 1/2 out of 5. It was fucking amazing, and the extended edition is one of my favorite movies now.

In fact my only problems with the extended cut is they replaced the pterosaurs with bats, a big no no. And the insect pit scene should have taken place in between when Ann ran into the log and when she saw the centipede.

this review was so funny how you too were arguing. the guy in the blue shirt although I thought he gave the movie too much praise knew what he was talking about. this film was too long and had some flaws but I still had a lot of fun watching the film at the theaters and the ending was great.
