So, if all of the committees that have direct oversight over Afghanistan are doing their job, why is Obama taking flack for not doing their job?
No denial here. The video is taking his line out of context. If you look at the history of the U.S., prior length of experience has no correlation to the success of the president. For example, Abraham Lincoln was a failure prior to his presidency. Jimmy Carter had more "experience" than Obama, and look where that went. This is an interesting video raising a good point -- but to everyone trying to discredit Obama based on experience, that's a hollow point. Hillary keeps claiming 35 years experience, but 20 of it has nothing to do with government.
I'm not anti-Hillary, but experience has had no correlation to success. Bill Clinton was great, but how did running Arkansas prepared him for presidency? And if experience is the only criterion, then McCain should be the best choice -- but it's not. Obama has been in elected office since 1997 -- Hillary since 2000. And IF you count her being First Lady, she's only held office four years longer. Hillary is very capable, but she needs to get off the "35 years" line and stand on other strengths.

Very funny. For the record, and I think I wrote this on one of these posts, I think we would be just fine with either Clinton or Obama in there. Obama is the chair of the SFRC's Subcommittee on European Affairs. Kerry is the the SFRC's Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs (the one that actually oversees U.S. relations with Afghanistan). The SFRC as a whole has been holding hearings and so has Kerry's subcommittee. So, if all of the committees that have direct oversight over Afghanistan are doing their job, why is Obama taking flack for not doing their job?

An administrators primary task is to delegate responsibilities to the subordinates best capable for the job. It is a showing of his ability as a leader to defer to the people who know what they are doing.

If you look at the history of the U.S., prior length of experience has no correlation to the success of the president. For example, Abraham Lincoln was a failure prior to his presidency. Jimmy Carter had more "experience" than Obama, and look where that went. This is an interesting video raising a good point -- but to everyone trying to discredit Obama based on experience, that's a hollow point. Hillary keeps claiming 35 years experience, but 20 of it has nothing to do with government.

I'm not anti-Hillary, but experience has had no correlation to success. Bill Clinton was great, but how did running Arkansas prepared him for presidency? And if experience is the only criterion, then McCain should be the best choice -- but it's not. Obama has been in elected office since 1997 -- Hillary since 2000. And IF you count her being First Lady, she's only held office four years longer. Hillary is very capable, but she needs to get off the "35 years" line and stand on other strengths.

Both are empty suits. They have the same approach, the same mantra- trust me. I have no idea what I'm doing but whatever we want will magically happen. Bush told us it would come from Jesus. Obama says we just need to believe in change. Neither will work.

Don't you do your research? Obama admits what was on the video is true. And Hillary may not have had 35 years in public employ, but she has 35 years of service working for the people of this country.

Please read what else I've posted on here. I and others have already explained why Obama's subcommittee has no reason to meet about Afghanistan. So, it's not like he did something wrong. As for years of service, if Hillary wants to claim 35, then Obama gets 20.

Very funny. For the record, and I think I wrote this on one of these posts, I think we would be just fine with either Clinton or Obama in there. So, that hardly makes me an Obamacan or Obamabot or whatever stupid phrase is going around. My problem with this video and some comments on here is the blind belief that Hillary is perfect and Obama is horrible -- and I say the same thing to people who think the reverse. Truth is: they both have great strengths; they both have great flaws.

Obama Is Chairman Of The Subcommittee On European Affairs. That committee has jurisdiction over the countries of Europe as well as NATO activities. Obama was in perfect postion to hold oversight hearings about the war in Afghanistan, the same war he has criticized over an over, and he did NOTHING.
