  • I bench like that when I start getting really heavy... but its specific training for my sport as there is a hip drive, so dont judge a book by its cover, sports specific stuff can look weird sometimes... but agreed it is the retarded way to bench lol

  • Don't really want to discredit his hard work but weighing 235 and only benching 405 by lifting but off the bench is not impressive! With all that said 405 is not light so this still shows good strength. I'm 195 and bench 440. I have a vid posted.

  • @skippy62able they don't use a shirt to bench 400 pounds, they do it to bench 700+ pounds. they also make sure the use great form as to not harm themselves so they can keep lifting.

  • @skippy62able and how did you learn this? from what great site with all knowledge of what these lifters do, did you find that info. i highly doubt it would be legal. you sound angry. what is the reason for it? are you just mad at them for being able to lift more than you? you don't understand the kind of hours they put into the gym five to six days a week. they live and breathe lifting. they understand the kind of determination you have to have in order to become this strong. i pity the fool.

  • @luciphoenix watch the documentary Bigger, Stronger, Faster. You will quickly see the use of steroids in the sport of powerlifting as well as using the bench shirt. It does exist. I am not knocking on how hard these guys work and the determination that they have, but performance enhancing drugs give them that edge to bench 700 pounds and with out that edge its not going to happen. If I was using steroids, I would be repping 405 in this video for sets of 10, but I am not

  • @skippy62able what ifs are always a mistery - you dont know if you would be repping 405 if u used maybe so maybe not. we had a drug user BB in my gym who couldnt deadlift his own 150 pound bodyweight. but anyway you have to decide weather you're calling out on people who use drugs or bench shirts cuz it doesnt have to be the same guy using both of them

And hey, some powerlifters have reached 700 lbs without a shirt and 1000+ pounds with one. I promise you with steroids you would not be repping 405 for shit.   • @zomiemama umm... slight arch in the back is proper form. Shoulder blades and tailbone are supposed to be in contact with the bench. This guy is cheating.... Where I come from this is called "Ceiling fucking" and the people who do it are completely ridiculed for being the clueless people of the gym. This guy could probably push 315 max with proper form and no bounce off the chest (I'm being generous).

  • @JC21JMC hahaha 315 is a low ball number. after seeing myself and my terrible form, i went back to the drawing board, took off all the heavy weight and started working on my form. I can do 375, controlling the weight down, and then a clean press with back, shoulders, ass, everything flat on the bench. and just to shut you the fuck up, i will post a video of me doing what I just said i could do tomorrow. hahaha i will ceiling fuck your mom up the ass after i post the video

  • Still very strong for the body weight too, but definitely watch the arching and do not start adding more weight. If I were you I would drop the weight by 50lbs, because I knew a dude who arched like that and had to get surgery on several discs in the lumbar region and now he cannot bench anything, I kept warning him but it went in one ear and out the other. I guess he thought, what does he know because he benches less than me anyway.
