Why would you choose a 4 stroke over a 2 stroke 250c, you are giving yourself a massive hp disadvantage. The 250cc 2 strokes put out almost 60hp the 4 strokes only manage mid 30s. Get the 2stroke.

4 strokes dont normally need rebuilding unless you clock up huge amount of miles or you thrash the shit out of them. you just need to check the valves every so often on the MX/Enduro tuned bikes.

if you want to buy a new one then the best thing you can do is to buy the latest model because the prices are not that different...if you want to buy a second hand bike then you can get even a 2002-2004 bike...i think 2006 models are a little bit expensive...an older model is just fine....i had 2 years ago a honda cr 250 from 2000 and it was perfect...i had no problems...ot cost me 1300 euros...now i have a kx450

ALL motocross bikes have a high seat height. Make sure with your body weight it sinks front and back like 4 inches or more. 5 to 6 is better. Depending on how high you fly. Remember you have 13" of travel...

amazing machines. But, if your not tall enough to start it, don't get it. Go sit on one at your local shop. You want to be a bit tall because you need to have a good kick to start it. They are hard to start.

If you can't start it you can't ride it is a good rule.

Try to get a four stroke though. And get the racing model. A crf150 is better than any of the 85's you listed. and a 250f will be far better than a 125

i like honda alot more than anything, there is absolutely nothing special about yamaha except the yz 2 strokes, honda is ahead of yamaha on the 4 strokes on the track, honda has the best offroad bikes other than ktm and i will only ride ktm and honda, but i will say those bikes do rip and the suspention is amazing, but the crf250r i believe is better, just love the red
