what??? rob too???? w.t.f.???? no andols no jim no rob??? no band... srry but honestly i could care less about andols leaving cause he quits once a damn year... but jim and rob??? why!!!!!!!!!!!
Kinda pisses me off when people expect to hear something that sounds exactly like the album. Whats the point? If youre that way why even go see them live in the first place?
I anticipate difference when I go and see a band live, and Ive seen Chimaira and sometimes the timing is different and the vocals are more harsh, but that makes things even better, that's the energy from the show.
I dont know about you guys but the reason I see bands live is for the energy and atmosphere and thats shown here
@vexred not quite, its a little off....and the same w/ six on this dvd when they do the breakdown where he is screaming "everyone wants to be here"...listen to the originals, then listen to this
@ClemsonC17 OK I've listened to the original and compared it, and I still don't hear what you're hearing. He does the double time kick for the first half of the riff and then it slows down, just like on the album.
@vexred he still keeps the beat, but the very opening riff on the album is when he goes double, steady, double, steady really quick in a four count...its slightly different, very complex line. On here he coust double steady only once on the four count. Ive heard other live videos where he does it and where he tries and it sounds like shit. So i guess he wanted to just keep the rythme on the DVD.
@ClemsonC17 Ehh.. I just think that the people that comment on here don't listen to Chimaira as much as I (or you) do.. so I notice small things like his drum patterns or changes in vocals on a first listen
@ClemsonC17 i know you mean six.. but in six i cant even hear the double bass very well, especially on youtube (i'm too lazy to look for it on the dvd)... but he is able to do the double time double bass part like in six or the disappearing sun. watch?v=f2Ng3fAufFc (the disappearing sun...) or watch?v=P-8Cww4d7ew (six, recorded from the dvd show, just from a viewer) .. ca. 3:25 .. ;)
actually he is not doing the same thing as on the track on the record.listen from 0.30...he skips the second roll in the bar..and just plays sixteenth notes..instead of tripplets thingysl.but i cant say andols dissapoints me though.he is a cool drummer.cheers people:)
@ClemsonC17 come on :S I hear Machinegun-like bass drums heavy guitars and great growls. If you where there you would not even notice Andols is the man!
@ClemsonC17 hes only human man. Maybe he just wasnt feeling it. Sure hed rather stay in beat then make it sound like shit. He does do it live though, check out other vids.
@ClemsonC17 Oops. you are correct. I did go back and check. It's not off by much only on the first four measures. Album version he does 8 16th notes followed by 4 8ths, 4 16ths, 4 8ths then cycles back with 8 16ths. Then switched to 8 notes of 16ths alternating with 4 8ths after those first four measures. Live he just does alternating 8 notes of 16ths and eighths. Good ear. My apologies. I stand corrected.
@ClemsonC17 Dude, andols is one of the most technical and disciplined drummers out there and there is no way he wouldn't do that part live. That double bass part IS The Disappearing Sun!

Just saw Chimaira perform... Austin did this song justice-- he nailed it. I just wish Rob wasn't leaving the band.

Album Version :45 to :50
Live Version :50 to :56
Theres extra double times in the album version than the live there, but other than that, you're right. He hits everything... LIKE A BOSS.
