@mochamegan123 It takes far less time to tear off the costume to change back into the prince than it does to put it on to become the Beast. Terrence says just that on the Good Morning America clip (also to be found on this channel.) There is a quick actor-swap at the end for the transformation effect to make it work, though, yes.
@mochamegan123 Oh! Sorry. It's always the end people wonder about. I think they switched them in the original production. The main actor plays the prince -- because you see his face clearly and you will at the end as well -- and the newly transformed 'Beast' is a substitute who cowers in the cloak in the shadows and ducks out. There's tons of time between that and the Beast's reappearance for the primary actor to change into the real makeup.
Most of the footage was shot in rehearsals and in previews at the shows out of town tryouts in Houston. So, you see a lot of things that were eventually cut. Pay close attention to the Enchanted Objects and Beast costumes. They changed quite a bit.
Wait if it took 1/2 hour to do the beasts makeup how did they change him in like 3 seconds ON STAGE? were there 2 actors?

@scipwraec I meant at the beginning. Like is there a different guy playing the beginning prince and the beast?

@RosesNightengales It was in the original show. But for the new touring version they cut that song and I believe "No Matter What"
