don"t do this use 2 AA batteries cause with a 9 V you will get more heat cause it taking 9 V and turning into 5 with 2 AA it taking 3 V and making it 5 V

Is it possible to just use 4 AA batteries in a holder and connect that to a female 3.5 jack? b/c i have this cellphone adaptor to a wind up lantern and ive modified one of the plugs that came with it to fit part of my ipod mini charger but what I need to know is if its ok to run 6VDC into the ipod b/c it says on the back of most ipods and mine, rating 5-30 VDC 1 amp maximum. would it hurt my ipod if i ran 6 volts DC into it instead of 5 volts? my battery sucks and craps out dead after 3 songs.

its not a lisp my old camera's sound does this too, you mean the scratchy SSSS sounds? thats the camera's audio sample rate its probably 8,000hz and horribly compressed. you can hear this in many of my older videos.
