funny to think that they let those ships go by the wayside instead of incorporating them into the new russian military after the cold war.... i know they have a formidible military now, but in hindsight, the could've had the largest submarine force if they would have kept those subs.
Not sure but it could be a Typhoon.. looks a little strange. But maybe it is capsized and we are seeing the belly of it. The Typhoon is a BIG sub, but you can't tell the scale of it in the photo. In his second video there are 2 separate Alpha Class Nuclear Attack subs one at 01:20 and another at 02:38 Unbelievable.
Few questions what is this song, if I jumped into onto one of these subs could I start it and drive away lol kinda joking kinda serious, is there anything of value in any of them? I have heard of drug dealer transporting lareg quantities of drugs across countries like this. And why is the max user by date 25 yrrs?
Can you actually drive a sub with a 10 man crew or something through the ocean? Or would every navy on the planet wonder what the hell you were doing.
I would not go anywhere near any old Soviet sub. They never pulled the reactors out of, or decontaminated many of them, and when they did, they were known to dump entire reactors, baffle plates (used to shut down the fission process), and primary cooling loop waste (highly radioactive) in water less than 200 ft deep in several areas in the Barents Sea and the Pacific.
A small barge with a 100 ft. boom would work to scrap out a ship.A think a plasma cutter would be the fastest way to cut a ship apart.Anyone know the cost of operating one?
Hey what do you see? All the water is changing. Its more shallow for their inland seas. Global warming. The oceans are deeper and inland lakes and seas are getting empty. We are in trouble on the earth.
Just look in the bays around the base Polyarny. For example 69° 13'24 .66 "N 33° 20'48 .86" E, 69°10'37.87"N 33°28'21.54"E, Saida Bay or 49°01'33.32"N 140°15'27.18"E, 48°59'58.69"N 140°15'25.95"E
its okay. So let me think... I've got some pics from the inside. I really don't know how long it will take to post these pictures here, but I will do it soon. I will try to combine inside submarine photos and abandoned city's coves. Thank you for your interest
Please be careful going inside these wrecks. It is VERY dangerous.
A lot of these photos are from ship-breakers. When a ship has completed it's useful service life (25 years max) it is sold, sailed to Pakistan or India, run up on a beach on PURPOSE. Then, the workers tear it down for scrap.
Thank you for posting this. Those pictures look like they are from another planet. Everytime I see abandoned ships and subs, I wonder what was it's history and who served on them.
some photos from former soviet republics such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan - now is no longer russian's territories. But most photos is from the docs (I can't tell the names because of government privacy) of nowadays Russia. And few photos from Asian docs with russian ships.
Is it just me or did one of the photos include a ship resembling HMS Fearless, and was any of the subs Brit ones?

The ship breakers are on the shores of Bangladesh.
The 'cheap' labour have only torches to cut up an entire ship.
No shoes, boots, etc. All manual labour.
