  • id lay my weeny and left testicle on those wires

  • In wich country is this?? I don´t think we´ve worked in this stupid manner since the middle ages here in sweden...Well, some countries develop slower than others...

  • the lines arent live you can see the earths connected to the lines

  • Balls of steel.

  • Aye; laddie; yer a brave man!!!

  • grass? id eat fucken gravel before going up there.

  • Screw that! Electricity is cool, but I wouldn't want to be climbing on hot lines.

  • I think that if this line would be energised, or this part of the substation he'd be electrocuted right now.

Shouldn't we hear some loud humming coming from these wires?

  • What a job, and was that guy wearing a safety harness? I'd expect that line was de-energised but not all the lines at that substation. I would be worried about that high voltage jumping if ya got to close to a live line.

  • The substation may be energized, but I doubt the circuit this guy is working on is energized, because if it were he'd stand a good chance of starting an arc when he's crossing the insulator string. Still, even a dead circuit is not easy to work on when you have to hang from a wire!

  • its not the fall that kills you ,its the landing.

  • ba da boom.. tss!

  • its not the landing that kills you its the 230,000 volt that jumps between you before you even get the chance to touch the ground.

  • I hope they pay you very well.

  • It's no big deal, really. You just have to be at the potential of whatever line you are working on. It is when your body creates a path for power to flow when you get fried.

  • I'm more worried about the strain on the muscles from all the climbing around than getting fried.

  • yeah, try that in the cold wind in rain ...

  • am i right in thinking if you dont touch the ground or some other wire then your safe from electricution?

  • Yes and no. At 230,000 volts the rules are very different than at 240 volts.

  • If your at the same potential as the line your OK except high voltage like that you have to worry about ionisation of the air and lines men have to cover them self up. Check the line inspectors that inspect them 550KV or so lines for how they safely do that on energized lines.
