she was and due to film, will always be, a great star! Amazing that at her age (remembering the first time I saw her in film was a 1937 dilm called 'Stage Door' with Hepburn, Ball, Rogers, Arden, etc! How she could dance like that at age 75 is amazing to me! Some cannot even walk at that age! Brava!
I remember going to see David Lynch's Mulholland Drive - I only did so to see Ann Miller in the film - her last performance - I'm so glad I did. thank you David for seeing her (and Oscar Legend Lee Grant) talents and hiring her.
...I really wish we could have things like this nowadays... But "show biz" doesn't mean what it used to. I just wish I had been alive to see things like this live!
I saw her with Mickey Rooney in "Sugar Babies" at the 12,000-seat outdoor Muny in St. Louis and talked with her afterward backstage. I said I was transfixed on how she was giving Rooney 100 percent eye-to-eye contact the whole show. "That's because he changes the show every night. I've got to pay total attention to follow him when he begins ad libbing." During this marathon show she never showed any sign of tiring in any way. What a trouper and what an intelligent woman! And a true star!
Ann just kept getting better and better and more spectacular. Here talent was tempered by age in such a beautiful way. What a star! The night I saw her in SUGAR BABIES was one of the great theatrical experiences of my life. This woman was truly a great star!!!

God bless her, what a STAR!!! Nobody summed up that old-time Hollywood glamor like Annie. Nice to see Bob Stack, Cesar Romero & Roddy McDowell too.
