Then Abner called to Joab, and said, Shall the sword devour for ever? knowest thou not that it will be bitterness in the latter end? how long shall it be then, ere thou bid the people return from following their brethren? 2samuel 2:26. tells us that there is no glory in war. no winner or loser but bitterness, the sure consequence of war. when will humans ever learn? GOD only has the last words.....
Perhaps some wars are necessary, but not all. When the ones who want war are NOT the ones fighting it, then it is probably right to stay out. Wish those in Congress now had enough memory to recall what was wrong about Vietnam, but apparently amnesia is well spread amongst both parties. So sad.
Don't like the lyrics -- war and life are unfortunate cohabitants that can't be seperated. Stalin was a monster but thankfully he was right about one thing when replying to a Sr. German Field Officer - Вы никогда не будете входить в Москву!
Silly lefty - righty arguments. When I was kid in the 1960's I loved Phil Ochs. Now in my 50's I couldn't disagree with him more. But the most important thing is he had the RIGHT to say these things,to sing these songs.THAT is the most american thing of all. They say it takes a left AND right in wing for the Eagle to fly.And the right to openly speak our minds is what keeps that Eagle flying.May it ever be so,lest we lose Liberty itself.
Seacrhed out this tune due to Stephen King's "Hearts in Atlantis". Dunno what I expected, but this ain't what... Nothing wrong with the tune, mind you, reading King just made me expect something way less cheerful.
Nice meaningless wall of text - now if you could only disprove anything I said - you might have had a relevant comment, but alas…..you didn’t. KEEP FAILING, CUM STAIN.
I just posted that so fans of your broadcasts could contact you and thank you for your contributions to the profession of journalism. You are a generation X version of Harry Volkman
@BlameRepublicans I gave you almost a full day genius. You posted the name and number of a guy from TN. Do you think I commute to Peoria, IL to do my TV weathercasts >:-) AND gave you a chance to back away from your absurd statements and definition of "what makes one an 'American'" What an IDIOT you are. Democrats should run from you like you're an ebola hemmoragic fever dispenser; you make them look weaker and even more CLUELESS. How's that for a meaningless wall of text?
I like the alternate version, but this is still quite good. After all, it's by Phil Ochs, and even so, this song is so good it pretty much stands on its own.
Very Good! I grew up in this era and was caught up in it. The feelings were strong. Intentions were the best. The results are subject to debate. Watching this I remember the fun and excitement. We felt "So right". Thanks for posting this video.
First time I've ever heard this song........ I'm so addicted to it now. I love the subject and tune. It's one guy with a guitar but the message is so loud.

@paragtime Remember - Liberals won WWI and WWII. You Republicans lost Vietnam for us and allowed 9-11 to happen. You are NOT Americans.
