Wow, I was in Norway during the last week of July, in Stavanger, and one evening this song was played. I froze, it embraced me with all of its beauty. It felt celestial. I turned on my camera on the spot and started recording. It's been more than three months now and I've finally found it!!!
@ZuilzonDTD It's like Europeans have a genetic line to make music, that or the music schools are really good. My Norwegian friend, who introduced me to Susanne Sundfor, goes to a school dedicated to music. I still go to high school as a junior learning about photography and anatomy. I think there's something wrong here. I'm a musician too. She makes me so jealous because she's Norwegian.
Usually not in this type of music and I dont remember how I got here. But this certainly will be my opening tab for tommorow, I can listen to this a 1000 times.
Nice how the numbers of dislikes mentioned in the top comments add up to the actual amount right now., unless you read this comment in a while and more people have disliked it.

@agga225 Norway is a dream! im a latino guy living in Oslo since 2009, I love my country but nothing compares with Norway. THE BROTHEL as album is the perfection, so sublime, if someone wants to get the whole album just let me know it, this great singer deserve that her music gets difusion!

What an absolutely stunning piece of music! It's a shame that she doesn't get more recognition...hell somebody needs to put this song in a tv-show like asap.
Beauty, beauty! It´s beautiful, so strong and sensitive. Her voice reminds me of Rickie Lee Jones but her songs are far far better. This girl will have the recognition she deserves.
I agree, people aren't recognizing the beatiful darkness she's projecting with her voice and lyrics. @normick, you think we should rather fool ourselves with the idea of a perfect world? This is life, a lot of downs mixed with joyus up's.
Besides, is it just the idea of the song you don't like? Personally, and judging from a lot of other people who's been commenting, the song is amazingly composed. Sadness and anger fleeting together....
Men alle teller.
This song was played alot during summer on our cabin in a small Norwegian town. It reminds me of rainy days, waiting for the sun to disclose herself. Also my parents in their 60s love this song. Even if the song is depressive it gives me a strong feeling of love for my parents, just being with them on that cabin, doing the dishes....
Elsker denne sangen.
I'm from Scotland and discovered this song (and then the album) after Melody Gardot tweeted a link. It's such a beautiful song and I agree with @TheAlmightySmurf I wish mainstream music in the UK was as amazing as this
@TheAlmightySmurf Yeah, it's really popular in Norway, and yes, i think it is considered mainstream music. Cool, huh? Although, i think the album got a lot better with the influences of Lars Horntvedt (Jaga Jazzist) who produced the album and composed some of the material.
