I hate the way the so called Goo Goo Dolls (sucky ass group) sang this song. I hate the GGDs, or should I say the Gay Gay Fags anyways. Long live the music of Fleetwood Mac!
My parents had this album and I played it so much I had it taken away. I believe I was 5. That was 1981. Still love every song on here. This and Tango in the Night are my favorite Fleetwood Mac albums. Great photo montage too.
My compliments to Ms Wench! This lady is a fantastic video editor! She does a wonderful job of inserting band photos to go w Fleetwood Mac's music. I know I speak for many FM fans, we love your work!
I bought the 8-track of that album (long gone now). Great to hear again. This song and "The Chain" are far superior to the commercial Top 40 drivel that was released from the album for airplay.
What a great song. They only recorded it after Silver Springs was eliminated from final contention due to length. I really don't know why BOTH Silver Springs AND I Don't Want To Know couldn't have been included. But that would have given Stevie 4 songs on one record (plus Stevie wrote the lyrics of The Chain), and Lindsey wouldn't have that, now would he!? There WOULD have been room had Never Going Back Again and Oh Daddy (both fine songs that would have been great on Tusk) been removed.
@Wench098 It took me a LONG time to appreciate Oh Daddy. When FM released their remastered version of Rumours, we heard the "original" Oh Daddy, with far more prominent vocal contribution from Stevie. Why the hell was that version not included originally? It just showed that Stevie was there, and did contribute, but "someone" (OK - Lindsey) chose to minimize her role. Oh Daddy has a kind of mystic, Stevie-esque vibe to it. Tusk was the better home for it (or the B-side of some single).
@redletter2008 ~ I agree about the Bside idea for Oh Daddy! You know ,Silver Springs, being left off, kinda made it even more special in a way. That "want what we cant have" thing happened with me. I was a kid and did have the Rumours album but only heard Silver Springs on the radio so FREAKED when it came on lol I had no idea I could have gotten on Bside of the 45 Go Your Own Way. TY for commenting :)
@Wench098 I know. It's probably one of the best B-sides of all time. I had a friend (who successfully converted me to a Stevie-fanatic in '81) that had Silver Springs on record (the Go Your Own Way single). We would listen to it and it was one of those remarkable, elusively magic songs. You are SO right that it was even more special when FM played the song for The Dance. I remember the MTV promo commercial for the show and couldn't believe they were doing Silver Springs. It was so awesome!
I just watched the whole classic album thing, i think this was because of the tape fiasco wich whyped out the fine nuances of a song. (and that they solved by taping the whole thing ovet (by hand!)
I do agree with oh daddy, i would prefer silver springs. But In time constraints i could imagine it not working as a whole
@redletter2008 reason is that Christine was composer in that time and Lindsey was given own interpretions as lead guitars to turnd whole into album track
Thank you Wench098 because you have always put out some beautiful videos by my favorite artist and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!! This is awesome!!!
My parents brought me up on Fleetwood Mac, but just because I happened to listen to them before Glee introduced more of this (younger) generation to their music doesn't make me cooler or better. Honestly, just the fact that people are introduced to such great, legendary music is awesome. Quit with the hipster attitude people it's a fucking song.
even though glee was singing songs from the rumors albums I knew fleetwood mac way before I just never heard this songs by them but now I have fallen in love with it and I happy glee sang the songs even though it's not their best cover I appreciate them for introducing me to this amazing album.
@Wench098 i agree with you , i love glee and im so happy i heard this song on there because yesterday i brought fleetwood macs album and fell in love with them !!!!
@unacatsupketchup it shouldnt matter how you first discover a band as long as you love their music when you are done. most of their music was done before i was born but it doesnt stop the fact that rumors is one of my favorite albums of all time
@unacatsupketchup - I pretty much hated Fleetwood Mac because of their 80s music until Glee did the show based on "Rumours." Now - because of Glee - I will be buying this album. Who cares how people discover music, as long as they discover it? Life is too short to be this narrow minded.
YEAH! i knew this song because of Glee BUT that does not have to be a bad thing thanks to them i fall in love with the music of this band! I buy the Rumours album and now Fleetwood Mac is one of my favorite bands. SO DONT HATE ON ANYONE PLEASE!
Rumours is still my pick for the greatest album of all time.
Speaking of Glee, I'm delighted that the producers had the same thought I did. If they were going to devote an episode to one single album, Rumours was definitely the right choice.
I'd never heard this song before Glee, and I have to say Cory and Dianna's version sounds almost exactly like this. The pitch is a little different and it's sped up maybe by a few seconds, but it's very close. Thumbs up!
@silverspringsss98 ~true! I think it worked out great though. Back then you only heard Silver Springs on the radio (Im THAT old! lol) or if you had it on the B side of Go Your own Way on a 45 record. It was "rare" in a way~EVERYONE love it even more because of that I think.
@Wench098 - You were lucky enough to hear it on the radio. I have to download it onto my iPod or listen on YouTube, but im not complaining. I'd rather listen to it on my iPod though cuz everyone in my house laughs at me cuz I listen to such old music but I don't care anymore, lol.
@BlauerBooo Glee is an American television show about a group of kids in a club about singing. They do covers of songs on the show, like this one. It's very popular and amazing :)
So is it like a casting where people can vote for their favourite cover-band or are there always the same kids doing different songs everytime, just for fun? ^^
Hm.. As long as they play various types of music, including this older one, I think it has to be nice in a way :D.
No, it's not a reality show. It's a regular television series, and the episodes are filmed before they're aired. It's actors playing characters and it's the same group of kids.
@faolkrop excuse me but that's my little sister you're talking to, she's only young and is having trouble with her spelling, she's crying right now, so don't be so rude and if you have a heart say you're sorry.
Seriously, I don't care if Glee brought people here. Glee refreshed my memory of Fleetwood Mac (THANK THE LORD, I HAD FORGOTTEN HOW AMAZING THEY WERE!). Besides, I would rather our youth listen to this, than most crappy pop that is out there...
@agdolls5231 shut your face dummy. just shut up. the original, without this glee wouldn't have had an episode and many of the songs your like wouldn't exist. keep your stupid statements to yourself.
im 14 and i have this album on vinyl and i have to be honest i haven't listened to it in ages but after watching glee it made me whip it out and play it so thanks to glee for rekindling my love for the mac!!! xx <3
My favorite Fleetwood Mac songs are the (Buckingham/Nicks) ones that don't get played to death on the radio. Songs such as this, most of the songs from Tusk and Tango in the Night. I don't even watch Glee, but knowing that they did this, I might just watch that episode.
Say what you want, but Glee is definitely giving the kids from nowadays some serious music education. Auto-tuned to their asses? Hell yeah. Poppier-high-pitched versions? Sure. But at least the kids are getting to know what real music is like.
Well, I'm not ashamed to say that Glee brought me here. Yay for discovering another great Fleetwood Mac song. Good music is good music, no matter how you come by it. :)
I love this song, I'm thirteen and I heard this song long before glee but I don't think it's fair for people to be rude about those who haven't heard fleetwood mac song's before glee because in the end at least they can recognize a good song when they hear it!!!!!!!!!!!!
@barbara786babs well done and I think that at 13 you have great taste in music because Rumours is one of the greatest masterpieces in popular music and has been my favourite album since I first heard it in 1977. So glad you discovered it through Glee, you will love it for the rest of your life!
@barbara786babs - Im the same age as you, and I don't even watch glee. I started listening to fleetwood mac through my dad. He has one cd of fleetwood mac, but i just started looking up other songs and their amazing. Its all i listen to now. lol
Glee brings younger generations to music other then the crappy pop they play on the radio these days. Glee brought me here and I love this song now, and I'm gonna go find this album later because all of the songs are amazing.
Why on every video of usic that was covered from Glee or others, people have to argue about which version is better, who's right, who discovered the song before the other,...I discovered this one tks to Glee and i don't want to feel ashamed about it as people who knew it better are having fun at the one who discover it with Glee.
All this to say,i'm glad i discovered this song, better late than never, tks Glee and i love both versions.
Fantastic pics! Thanks!

Glee didn't bring me here. But I like this song and Glee's version equally, as I am a fan of Fleetwood and Glee. So yeah.

I'm 14, and I'm proud to say I didn't need some tv show, to show me what good music is. Glee didn't bring me here.(:

Glee brings younger generations to music other then the crappy pop they play on the radio these days. Glee brought me here and I love this song now, and I'm gonna go find this album later because all of the songs are amazing.

@kittyhalt Quinn and Finn singing this song made my day, because they were arguing and singing at the same time :)
missronnikins 9 months ago
Why on every video of usic that was covered from Glee or others, people have to argue about which version is better, who's right, who discovered the song before the other,...I discovered this one tks to Glee and i don't want to feel ashamed about it as people who knew it better are having fun at the one who discover it with Glee.
All this to say,i'm glad i discovered this song, better late than never, tks Glee and i love both versions.
Peace,xoxo
