  • Absolutely Brillliant what more can be said . Thanks for posting that

  • Hi Allen This is one tune that I can play on the piano, but I would much rather watch you as you are fantastic and my playing is rather bland. I have to stop now and get to bed as it is after midnight, otherwise I will be here all night watching you play, witch wouldn,t be hard to do,Take care, look after your hands and God Bless Your Aussie fan Joy

  • I used to roller skate to the beautiful the Tennesee Waltz with a special girl or two back in the 50s. What beautiful memories it brings back. It wan't waltzing. But it was still wonderful. A pretty girl in your arms skating while the Tennesee Waltz was playing and for a young teenager that was heavenly.

  • @mr1georg57 Glad you liked it and had good memories of the song.

  • Allen - I am from West Sussex in England - near Brighton. I am hooked on your superb playing and that wonderful Baldwin. You are sensational. If you would ever like to come over here, I would gladly pay your fare - and I have access to a Bluthner. Matt

  • Someone give this awesome man a grand piano.

  • The Best Performing.

  • I was dancing with my darling to the Tennessee Waltz, when an old friend I happened to see. I introducer her to my loved one and while they were dancing my friend stole my sweetheart from me.... I remember the night and the Tennessee Waltz. Now I know just how much I have lost. Yes I lost my little darling the night they where playing the beautiful Tennessee Waltz....

  • @MamaJacqueroo Thank you.

  • What amazing talent you have!

  • @TheGoldilocks33 Thanks.

  • Allen you style is brilliant ! I've been sending out one of your renderings everynight from Scotland to friends around the world.. By the way , what piano are you using,my mate thinks it could be an electric Wurlitzer ? I love your Old Southern sound. Reminds me of the time a couple of years ago when my wife and I drove up from texas through to NY. Keep on entertaining.

  • @commodoregeorge The PIANO I use for most recordings is my friend, Lenard's. It is a 1986 BALDWIN SPINET.My personal pianos are a 1984 KOHLER & CAMPBELL spinet, a 1956 WURLITZER spinet and a 1957 WURLITZER spinet. The TWIN WURLITZERS I use at my job NOSTALGIA restaurant in Mt. Carmel, IL.

  • Do you play the piano professionally? I like your style (Floyd Cramer, Del Wood, Jo Anne Castle). You have posted a lot of songs that some of the famous artists did not even record. Great to hear them on the piano--done so well, too. Thanks for posting them.

  • @BettyAlexander I do play professionally. I perform 4nights a week at NOSTALGIA Restaurant in Mt. Carmel, IL 618-262-8400 for show times.

  • @allendale1962

This might be a really rude question, but how much do you earn each week, and do you sometimes receive tips?

  • @GriffinNary My payvaries by the gig, and YEs I accept tips.

  • Love it! and oh by jingo. such a lovely style.

  • Hello,

When I listened to your performance last December, I was deeply impressed.

Especially, I was impressed by the music of 'Tennessee waltz'.

Since then,I am fun of the jazz piano.

Are you fond of the following music?

that are "I can't stop loving you","Back to the cross","Mi Amor Mi Corason",and "SanFrancisco Bay blues".

If you like any, I'd like to your performance.

Secondly, what is in the ashtray?

  • I tilt my head and look UP when i m trying t o get the next CHORD in my head, I don't know why that is. There is usually a cigarette in the ashtray. thanks.

  • I am sure your friend is quite talented on violin, but right now , I just do solo performances.

  • u can check her video on youtube.Just type sori1004jy.thanks anyway.May u happy now and forever.

  • Hi Allen,

    Another fantastic interpretation!

By the way, what means in America "cakewalk rags" and "barber shop songs"? And, if possible, what is the connection of that kind of music with the "Rhapsody in Blue".

    Thanks+Congratulations

  • A cakewalk is a slower played rag I think? Barbershop is acapello sung. I have no idea how these two styles have any connection with Rhapsody in Blue. I am NOT a well taught scholar. Sorry.

  • Thank you for the explanation.

  • This is so cute.... I love this song. Thanks for sharing....Fatima.

  • thanks

  • Allen u r truly a wonderful pianst are u a tuarus lol i am play piano by ear here i lived in tennessee till i got on my own and this song reminds me of home btw i love the way you put a little ofd new orleans style in your playing any idea where i can find old ragtime music sheets ?

  • Thanks. I am NOT a Taurus, I am a LIBRA. I find you can get some neat old sheet music at Flea Markets, antique stores, and estate sales.

  • can o make a request for a song ?

  • It depends on whether I know the song or not. What is your Request?

  • This song is sad, well the lyrics are! I know cause my mom always listens to this!

  • It might have sad lyrics, but the tune is beautiful.

  • Fantastic Rendition.

  • thanks!

  • Very nice interpretation. Excellent fingering and rapid arpeggios. Improvisation is your forte, is it not? Seeing that I cannot play anywhere near that good, I am going to drink myself into a stupor until I forget there ever was a song by that name. HA! HA!

  • thanks

  • Sweatheart, it was probably removed during maintenance, bt rest assurerd, this song is still posted!!

  • You are the object which is worth studying

  • Thanks for your response. You have so many of us addicted to your music that we don't like it if we think a song has been removed. This is simply a high level compliment to your musical ability and how you are a magnet to thousands of daily listeners. Just think about it man!

  • I am glad the song was put back online. Many of my elderly residents at various nursing homes, with alzheimer's can still sing every word to the song. I find that amazing, and I am proud to be a part of keeping some of their mental capacities.

  • This song was "removed" for a period of time on Friday 10/17/08. We're extremely thankful you put it back on. You were about to get in trouble!!!! :)

I have always wanted to play the piano ever since I was a little kid, and we were a large family and there was never enough money in our household for such things, a piano and lessons would be a luxury that was always out of reach. I appreciate you, I so enjoy listening to you! Thanks for sharing, your friend, Sandy

  • Thank you soooo much Sandy!!!!
