  • This great old songs came out when Ethiopians and Eritirans used to love and care about each other and it brings me a lot of good memories.

  • kemelkum subi niza Eri ..esei esi esi elelele long live Eritrea..Peace and love!!!

  • vERY NICE SONG!

  • saldem abilimum Deeghi ERIeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . Iwhe S\elamm selam Deghi adai .

    Mohamed

  • The people from this country are some of the most beautiful in the world. Their hair is simply beautiful as well.

  • amhara style with tigray lyrics, nice.

  • @WupeViasco

Poor DIKALA,,, Still lurking all over Eritrean videos.

FYI: Tigray is in Ethiopia & this is Eritrean video.

But the Instrument is played all over Africa, like VraiDiouf said,,, "This beautiful music sounds like the music we play in Senegal, Mali, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Algeria, and Libya. It sounds like Hausa, Fulani, Tuareg, Berber music. I'm very pleased that our culture are so similar. God bless Africa".

  • @BahreNeGash

LOL! B/C their is a huge difference between Ethiopian tig Culture and Eritrean culture [..sighs..] I see your trying to dissociate yourself from the great "Tigray" ethnic stock? Typical Eritrean behavior! Sorry to say, you are equally related to your Weyane brothers in Ethiopian than with your Shabias.

Yes, it is played all over Africa, this instrumentation is common among Amhara culture, not Tigray.

Same goes with the kirar, Tigrays play it completely different form Amharas..

  • @WupeViasco

As long as you got the message this instrument is played all over Africa, WHO CARES FOR YOUR BLUBBER.

  • @BahreNeGash

Yes i am well aware of that, this violin instrumentation is popular amongst Berber/Amazigh people (specifically their folk music) and some Sudanese.

If you didn't care for my "blubber", you wouldn't have replied to my comment.

  • @WupeViasco

WOW,, GOOD SEEING YOU,,, YOU FINALLY GET TO ADMIT THIS MUSIC IS UNIVERSAL.

FYI: Last time you BLUBBERED about this music being,,,, "amhara style with tigray lyrics, nice".

And NOW,,, you are BLUBBERING AGAIN,,, admitting this music is played all over Africa,,,

"Yes i am well aware of that, this violin instrumentation is popular amongst Berber/Amazigh people (specifically their folk music) and some Sudanese".

Therefore,,, WHICH ONE OF YOUR BLUBBERS FITS THE MUSIC???

  • @BahreNeGash

Dam are you that stupid? or are you trying to start a war over music? - Typical Shabia behavior [...sighs...]

Listen to the intro, that instrumentation with the masinko is common among Amharic Azmari music, not Tigray, i never implied that it wasn't universal (it actually isn't, its African & Middle East), Amharas play their instruments differently form Tigrays, as do Ethio - Semitics compared to Berber people.

Your so desperate for an argument/war - Typical Shabia behavior.

  • @WupeViasco

While BASTARDS like you keep bleeding their out to feel good about their LOST identity, Africans like VraiDiouf enjoy the beuty of African heritage, WRITING,,,

"This beautiful music sounds like the music we play in Senegal, Mali, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Algeria, and Libya. It sounds like Hausa, Fulani, Tuareg, Berber music. I'm very pleased that our culture are so similar. God bless Africa

Yeah, we call it kuukuumah in Hausa/Fulani, to be precise".

    VraiDiouf 2 years ago

  • @BahreNeGash

Irrelevant to my comment, i see you resort to nonsense that has nothing to do with my post in way of hiding, when you cannot responde to my point. - Typical shabia behavior.

  • @WupeViasco

    HOW DO YOU LIKE THIS???

"This beautiful music sounds like the music we play in Senegal, Mali, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Algeria, and Libya. It sounds like Hausa, Fulani, Tuareg, Berber music. I'm very pleased that our culture are so similar. God bless Africa

Yeah, we call it kuukuumah in Hausa/Fulani, to be precise".

  • were not arabic

  • Sorry

  • Thank you!!! and Im not eritrean Im My african lineage is sierra lonean and nigerian, but I hate that when ever its not people with piercings or stariving all of a sudden its time to call us something else or if you're hausa or fulani or your arab what!!!!!!!..lol

  • Question about the meal. I recognize most of it, the coffee, the injera and the berbere-seasoned stew. But what is that bowl of what looks like rice and some other grain, and that thick bread that the lady is breaking into chunks?

  • Besides Ingera, at least three other types of breads are common in Eritrea (all of them round, like everything we do - including our dances :-) ):

    1. kitCha - 1/4in thick made from plain dough of different grains & mainly eater during breakfast/snack - this is what they are cutting in the video.

    2. Hmbasha - 2/3in thick & soft. Sweetened & spiced, with a designed top. Mainly made for special occasions, like wedding, holidays, etc.

    3. gogo - 1/2-2/3in thick & hard. Made out of plain dough.

  • As for the sauces - common food in the country side:

    - the yellow stuff is grounded orange lentils and it is called "shooRo".

    - the green stuff is "Hamli", which basically means "green veritable". It is made from different type of vegetables, but I can't tell what type that is they eating in the video.

Sarge, just out curiosity, were u stationed at Kagnew Station? It sounds like you are due for visit to your nearest Eritrean Restaurant if not the country itself.

  • I'm afraid my days of long-distance travel may be behind me. The only place I have been to in Africa was Libya, about 40 years ago. I did have a few friends who had been stationed in East Africa, Asmara, I think and they enjoyed it, apparently. I'm sure it was better duty than Libya. The next time I am in Seattle, I shall make a point of visiting one of the Eritrean restraunts there. I think there is one near the VA hospital. My curiousity has been pigued.

  • Most definitely, Sarge, try out an Eritrean cuisine. For a guy who sounds like educated & well seasoned veteran (literally & figuratively) like yourself, you will enjoy it. And Sarge, as long as our feet are on this good earth, travels are never beyond us. I think, you would find Eritrea to be very accommodating, safe, fulfilling.

And you are correct, your friends were stationed in Asmara. Search for "Kagnew Station" & you will get more info.

  • Those wicked heart & scorn people who couldn't stand to see the joy of others, need NOT to watch Eritrean videos. No one is forcing YOU to watch Eritrean videos nor is any Eritrean is interested to hear your cry or wipe out your tears for you are barking at the wrong tree. Never forget, Eritreans always march AGAINST & defeat ALL ODDS!!!

Ethios, No one needs your blessings, save your tears for another day, you are going to need it, VERY SOON.

Remember, ERITREA STILL FLY WITH IT'S OWN WINGS!

  • Very beautiful thanks fenix12.

  • Ajoki Gual-Adey, Tsibukat Fitret,,, Beautiful people, holding on to beautiful heritage,,,

Wow, Fascinating to see a talented Eritrean women playing Chrira-wata, creating joyful music,,, elllllllll, Nice video.

PS: Ignore those who are NOT talented enough to create music nor enjoy the sound of music.

  • In deed, why work to keep hate alive? That one side belittles the very things that make a people human gives the people being abused more reason to fight, because it seems a matter of survival.

Even if a shooting war ends, there will not be peace or a final resolution until the people on both sides accept each other as human beings entitled to respect and the arts of either side as a thing of value.

  • Robert, While I'm positively sure, people are decent & agree with you & you have a very remarkable excellent point in creating tolerance, peace & harmony, I wish the world we are living in, is as simplistic as you made out it to be.

Human history has been & still remains in constant conflicts & wars, creating victors & victims. As long as these conflicts & wars continue with out amicable, respectful mutually benefiting solutions, it's only natural for people to lash out at each other.

  • I just wanted to point out that those who spoil the experience of viewing a music video with political vitriol make their own side look like losers, and achieve nothing.

  • I agree. It's just desperation. Thank you for your input. Enjoy the music.

  • Zuriash don't be dumme, follow you means ,follow mlman or msraki or mhsaw malet eyou. And we Eritreans follow only Jesus or alah. You got that.

  • Her voice is marvellous, and it goes well with the way she plays the watta, all coming together to create a very interesting mood.

  • Ata resaH Agame, this is more of our culture than it is yours and we never abandoned our culture. We always were and will be proud of our culture.

You are the ones who back-stabbed us - your supposed brothers - to please your western masters. And we will never, ever forget or forgive that!

Now get the hell out of here and go beg your master for more left overs.

  • I miss that meloty Areki. lol

  • Simply great music!

  • Hahaha, don't forget Komal,Lemanit I am not talking about Ethiopian ingeneral,I am talking about haters like you Agame.Don't forget you use to work Endatahanit in Asmara, which is Italian for Agame, when Italian lived in Eritrea we had a lot of building and very beatiful streets, but when the Agame came we had a lot of Kumal, dirty and Lementy.Thank God we indpendent from Agame Komenlty.

  • Zuriash, you realy miss Eritrea,I read a lot of coment on Eritrea's music, please no more Eritrea leave us alone, and don't forget We indpendent from Agame lementy not form our culture,so get life leave us alone dirty.

  • 1969bor, You will live to hate us (Agames) cause we do things you can not have any control or power and you have two option and that is hating like you do or follow us(mera) to liberation.

  • I thought this is Tigrian song

  • The people and culture of Ethiopians and Eritreans is one.

  • almost but not quite :)

  • I cannot believe this is Eritrean. I guess it is.

  • believe it.

  • i love this women she is nice

  • bahley natey? what?she is distroying wata,.,.

  • You mean just like you Agames are bending over to suck US and UK dicks and doing their dirty deeds for crumbs?

At least we proudly fought and were forcefully colonized. Unlike you Agames who are begging to be slaves.

Now, get the hell out of here go to Ugaden or Somalia and get your stinking dead body get dragged through the street, you dirty Agame!

  • beautiful girls and tight music

  • political boundaries can be separated but not similar cultures.

  • I realy love Abrehet and I was thankfull she performed at my wedding in Asmara...God bless her and Eritrea!!!

  • bitami stibuk (nice song)

  • I keep on seeing the cross on their neck, the Ethiopian tongue and face they have and I see their graceful spiritual legacy and then when I see the hateful writings they spread everywhere about Ethiopians, I just can't comprehend what is going on!! I can't wait to die and ask God what really happened between Eritreans and Ethiopians!! I just don't get it!! After nearly 20 years, something still doesn't make sense to me!!

  • This beautiful music sounds like the music we play in Senegal, Mali, Niger, Northern Nigeria, Algeria, and Libya. It sounds like Hausa, Fulani, Tuareg, Berber music. I'm very pleased that our culture are so similar. God bless Africa.

  • You know all those people you mentioned and horn of African people are called Afro-Asiatic people? They didn't call us that for no reason. Some where down the line we where related and have similar culture.Anyway glad you enjoyed the music as I absolutely love Tuareg music. BTW see my channel and you will enjoy some of the Eritrean cultural videos I have.

Peace to Eritrea and the rest of Africa!

  • You're absolutely correct, I went ahead and checked out your channel. I am very impressed and pleased that the Sahelian belt is pretty much the same.

  • @VraiDiouf

Yeah, we call it kuukuumah in Hausa/Fulani, to be precise.

  • @VraiDiouf

REMEMBER, AS AFRICANS, We have a lot in common binding together than borders breaking us apart.

Therefore, GOOD TO SEE YOU enjoying the artistic talent of my people & binding heritage of our AFRICAN people.

The more we get to see our SIMILARITIES, the lesser for our enemies impose "DIVIDE & CONQUER" to bleed our people.
