Awesome commercial, however I don't think PETA would support hanging an emu/ostrich between two hang gliders.

It would be funny if the gliders at the end went in different directions and ripped the ostrich in half. Now THAT would be totaly unexpected.

You can't assume the animals loved this. It's possible they did, but they may also have been scared stiff, especially being strapped in tight. A bird that has never flown is the same as any other land animal. You mightn't think it so cute if it was a cat for example. Animals don't necessarily feel about things the way humans do. It mighn't be the same as giving a wheelchair-bound person a chance to walk.

Is there a "making of" for this advert or anything? I'd really like to see how they get the emu up in the air and land it. The other birds were easy enough since thyey were strapped to the people, but I bet the emu was a challenge :)

Of course the birds were never in danger. The SPCA was involved in both the planning and the execution of the commercial. A representative was on the set at all times and made sure the birds were treated better than the cast and crew.

About the Emu, the landing may be a bit difficulot and what if the gliders go too far apart or too close togther? I want to believe the Emu's safety was utmost in their minds. An AWARD winning commercail nonetheless!! Loved the Penguin fluttering its wings in flight!! LOVELY!!

There's something I really feel needs to be addressed about this commercial... The ostrich... does anyone else realize that when they land that bird is going to get fucked up? Its hanging lower than both the gliders... Cute commercial but... yeah... I feel bad for it...
