  • Great song. hmmm.. hmmm. hmm... ..hhmmmmm. ..hmmmmm.!

  • Oh I love this tune by Hitoshi Sakimoto - so lively and bouncy. An intriguing arrangement too - good job!

  • yeah. love that whole OST infact. one of his best in my opinion, although that might be quite a controversial stance ~

    cheers!

  • Very cool. I love Sakimoto. What MIDI output device are you using here?, if you don't mind me asking.

  • Sorry, I should've known you get asked that a lot (just read your profile page). I have a question about the Yamaha MU100. It's a hardware device, right? There's no way to get these sounds without it?

  • Sakimoto is cool! I never used to like him, but I've a real fondness for his older SNES work lately.

Yeah it's a hardware device/sound module (or "tone generator"). The closest you'll get to these sounds in software form is the Yamaha "SYXG50" soft synth. It'll work on XP but not Vista. I used it for years before deciding I really wanted hardware. But the SYXG50 is a good midi device, worth looking into for sure.

  • Yeah, I've been using the Yamaha SYXG50 for a couple years now. It's just that this one sounds a step higher in sound quality. I wouldn't mind upgrading to it. I'll look into finding one.

Sakimoto has some pretty good works on the Genesis as well. Definitely check out Devilish/Bad Omen & Verytex if you haven't already.

  • Yay Sakimoto! Were you able to track split this or was it a straight sequence? Either way, quite impressive.

  • i muted channels for this no problem
