Evolution was put forth most prominently by an Anglican Christian (Charles Darwin) so it was in no means 'atheistic'. Rather, he just speculated on how /organisms/ may have 'evolved'; he possibly did not even consider evolution of humans at the time. I am not completely sure of his musings on the topic. Fossils of flora and fauna are biological entities that died and were suddenly buried by mineral rich water-borne sediment caused by a catastrophe before decay and scavenging would eliminate the possibility of fossilization in normal death on land or sea. However, suppose that one year a brown fox is born. This brown fox does much better than the rest of the foxes; prey doesn't spot him as he blends in and he eats much more often. He will be much more likely to survive to breeding age and be able to support young, thus the brown fur gene will be passed on.

We have genes for tails, chickens have genes for teeth, whales have genes for hind legs and actually still have pelvic bones. The kiwi bird has no wings or tail, but has very small bumps on it's sides where wings used to be. Moles have a layer of skin and fur over their eyes, why didn't god just not give them eyes?

Humans have the genes to grow tails. These genes are turned off (pseudo gene) so we are not born with tails. We have the fossil record that shows the gradual change of whales going from land mammals to aquatic mammals. What would the bumps be? Does it make more sense god just put them there for no reason, or that they lost their wings over time?

The Earth is very suitable for life, but it has no problem with wiping out any living organism, including humans, with a tsunami, earthquake, tornado, hurricane etc. In about 5 billion years the Sun will expand into a red giant killing all life on Earth. At any time a meteor or some other astronomical event could do the same.

It is known, by observing tectonic plate movement and 'back-tracking' that we can see many mountain peaks were once at the bottom of the ocean, so primitive sea life which died and became fossilised would have then be transported with the rock as it arose to become mountains. I presume you understand how mountains are formed. Transitional fossils support evolution, though I'm not sure what point you're making with mammal fossils.
