I'm an old school gamer. I grew up with Atari and NES and have beaten alot of games on the NES. Most of the time the games on NES have crappy endings. This video here doesn't surprise me at all. I beat Hydlide once. I totally worked my ass off trying to beat it. After I beat it all I got was "congratulations" man I was so pissed.

I can't believe that everyone has such a hard time with this game. I have been playing nes for about 22 years now, yes, but I think this game is fairly easy. Maybe I should go for a world record, as I have beat this game in just over 14 MINUTES. If you don't believe me, I will make a video soon. I don't consider myself an awesome gamer either, as I have not beat some games I've played i.e. Castlevania 3, Milons secret castle, and others but I cant think of them now. Ill have to make a vid.

@craig1083 If I remember correctly, you can encounter Jason within just a couple of minutes when starting up this game, and every few minutes thereafter, but he always runs away during the first several fights if you kick his ass (otherwise it's you who dies). So yeah, I'd love to see you make a video of yourself finishing this game in less than 15 minutes. As for the other NES games that you couldn't beat, please read my post to WN4723, as the info. there may help you beat those games as well.

@WN4723 LOL! I think this game is best played on your PC using an emulator like NESticle so that you can use it's instant SAVE / LOAD features to backtrack when you get into trouble. Also, I don't think there was an official strategy guide made for this game (although some tips and secrets can be found on old issues of Nintendo Power magazines). So search the net and d/l one made by a fellow gamer. A good guide can help you get all the loot in this game, which in turn helps you to defeat Jason.

Typical LJN to do ending like this. Just bland text, and a photo. Not telling is it really over. I never owned this game, and I believe that this even wasn't released here in Finland because of censorship rules back at the 80's and 90's. This movie was banned due to it's extreme violence.

And it was allowed to be sold after the ban was cancelled in year 2000. Same thing happened to Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies, banned because of the extreme violence and gore.
