@JeffDeBiase And from here it repeats indefinitely. Cabeles starts at #1 and Tacossa responds starting at #4. They each do the same movements. I've been practicing it. It's really awesome!

I like GM Cabales' footwork esp. under stress. Not many people can maintain whole body fluid movement like that. Usually the hand and feet loose coordination. Booth of the guys are great to watch.
even if they were doing a set sumbrada, that is still amazing. I have been doing kali for 23 years and that still impresses the heck out of me. I have the whole video.
How can you tell others what GM Angel and Master Tacosa are doing? It is not a set pattern. It is set pattern only from the basic (ie 3 strikes) but "Flows Free" from there, no different from how block and lock progresses.
No disrespect to you but that was just an idiotic and uneducated comment really!
But then its only spontaneous from ONE side...the responder. The only reason that LOOKED like sumbrada is because GM Angel makes it look easy. Master Tacosa is no slouch either lol. Mike, don't get down on these people. Everybody has their levels of understanding.
Meanwhile, MIA's comment about the footwork is great... but then he's an internal artist so he looks for things like voids and discrepancies. Bagua rocks, btw.
its cabales not canales

This is great, and for those who may be interested I will write out the set movements from Cabales' perspective.
1. Overhead forehand attack to the head.
2. Parry - drops the stick tip and rotates wrist inward as if to "look at his watch."
3. Overhead backhand attack to the head.
4. Roof block.
5. Here is where there is some variation. Cabales can either stab high, stab low, or cut high or low. But it is always to Tacossa's left side.
6. Wing block. (Cont...)

It's a set pattern/drill. You can hit pause/play/pause and see they repeat the same blocks, strikes, parries in the same sequences.

No disrespect to these great teachers, but they aren't free flowing. They're practicing a set pattern, like sumbrada.
A more spontaneous drill from Serrada would be 'lock-and-block', where one of them feeds them different angles of attack.
