  • so to shift you dont have to press the clutch??

  • @MrBronx240

No, there is no clutch. You just push the button to shift.

  • Can you shift into neutral with paddle sifters ?

  • @MCFARQUHARJ1

No, you have to be in sport mode to use the paddle shifters...to shift into neutral you take the shifter out of sport mode and then put it in neutral just like normal.

  • at what speeds do u upshift?

  • @xoNatalie09xo

You can upshift whenever you want in sport mode...

  • how can i do this how much it cost bsj

  • @patwreck

The module is $200...you can email me if you want one...email to: billetproof@hotmail.com

    Brian

  • I've always had these on my car, might as well try it tomorrow.

  • @Wafflez98

This doesn't come on the car from the factory...you have to buy it from me!

  • So its like a stick shift but theres no clutch and to change gears by the paddles?

  • @DrFR3SH101

Works just like paddle shifters in any other car...EVO, Lambo, whatever!

  • is their a clutch or no?

  • @iNicoTECH

    NO, there's no clutch.

  • @bsj8377 lol

  • I am interested in doing this as i have installed a tablet in the dash so the controls are useless now. I own a mitsubishi 380 and i was wondering if it would work still. I have looked up wiring diagrams in the service manual and the left hand and right hand side wiring joins together before it goes into the clock spring so i cant just take the wiring and join it to the tiptronic. Would your module fix this?

  • @Notaddicted2011

I couldn't guarantee it as I've never tried it on a 380, however, I do believe that everything in that car is the same as the 4G eclipse...all the wiring, controls, etc.etc. Correct, you can't just hook up the switches to the tiptronic, my module takes the signals sent by the switches and turns it into something the tiptronic can use. So again, I believe it would work, but I've never put one in a 380...let me know if you want one...send me your email address!

  • Im interested... Is the installation easy? please send details to syrold_dizon@yahoo.com thanks

  • Comment removed

  • @syrold Me too please! Details on this set up. I have a '09 GS

  • No clutch though? No fun

  • Can I put one of these Paddleshifters/Manumatic transmissions in an Automatic Eclipse or am I fucked if I buy a Auto?

  • @ExistBMX

This product is for an AUTOMATIC...!

  • @bsj8377 Praise

    God!

About how much do they run?

  • @ExistBMX

$180 shipped in the US...let me know if you want one...send me your email address and I can get you the payment info and all the details...thanks!

    Brian

  • That is tight.

  • DISTURBED! BTW that Eclipse sounds good. Like it has 2 more cylinders!

  • do you get off the gas when you shift?

  • @ra611594

No, you don't need to let off the gas at all.

  • love the Paddle Shifter dodge should put them on something like charger or challger

  • @mowat440 The new 2012 Dodge charger is coming out with them.

  • awesome mod. I wish you could do this to all cars. maybe design paddles and somehow add them to the steering wheel.

  • hold up, im thinking about getting an 06 eclipse with the volume controls on the back of the steering wheel just like that, does that automatically work like it did in the video or do you have to have something installed?

  • @NinjaPeter7

This is an aftermarket module that I make...this doesn't come from the factory on any eclipse.

  • just bought a mitsubishi too with the paddle shifters too. can you teach me how to do this?

  • @Reikobaby

You have to buy the paddle shift module from me. Then you install it and it make the audio controls your paddle shifters...!

  • @bsj8377 ok sell me

  • @bsj8377 how much

  • @Reikobaby

The module is $150usd plus shipping

  • @bsj8377 what if 1 of the buttons stick

  • @85cc144

Doesn't matter. It would be the same thing as if you pushing the shifter up and held it there. The transmission only reads it as one shift no matter how long you hold it. You would have to get the button fixed to continue to use it in that mode though...you just wouldn't be able to use the paddle shifters till you got the switch fixed.

  • one more question, i heard for this car you have to use Premium gas only is that true?

  • ik this is a dumb question but do you have to let go of gas each time u shift?

  • @ak47tas

No, you just push the button, the car does the rest!

  • @bsj8377 awesome!

  • i think you spun your wheels at 0:45

  • wow I like how responsive it is

  • How difficult was this setup?

  • @PS3guruMJR

Not bad at all...the kit comes with an installation DVD showing an actual install...shows you everything you need to know!

  • i have a 09 eclipse gs blue just bought it and already tinted the windows next is rims

    :]

  • helll awesome.. i own a 09 eclipse.. nd i didnt ve a clue i cud do dat !! sweeet ! juss wanna say thnks for postin :) !!

  • Im gettin a 06 Eclipse gt for my 16th bday. I was wondering if its worth it to get the Automatic/Sportronic or to just get the manual. Also the Automatic is a 5speed with a 6speed Sportronic right?

  • @PS3guruMJR

The auto is a 5 speed, even in sportronic.

  • @bsj8377

Thanks man. Cuz our 08 GS has a 4 speed auto with a 5 speed sportronic. So i thought it was the same with the GT

  • @PS3guruMJR

??? Not sure what country you're in, but the US Eclipse GS is a 4 speed auto/sportronic, and a 5 speed manual. It didn't come with a 5 speed auto/sportronic.

  • @PS3guruMJR

Haha i live in the US. I can put up a vid of it real soon so you can see it. Idk i might be wrong about it.

  • you should fit some paddles to them, doesent that get annoying when you need to shift and your wheel is upsidedown and spinnin?

  • @spriteremix02

No. Think about it...it's for racing mostly, how often during a race would your wheel be upside down? Never...and if it was you'd be in a bad spin and the last thing you'd be thinking about is shifting...No, it works just fine the way it is.

  • @bsj8377 yeah i guess so, i just meant like the buttons are sorta small and any car ive driven normally has big paddles on the colloum

  • what name of the song?

  • like ur taste in music distribed is the shit

  • GT sounds nice =)

  • when do you shift up. and down

  • No, it's for people who race/rally and don't want to have their hands off the wheel, that's why EVO's, GT-R's and just about every high dollar sports car has them. Including indy cars...

  • It was made for faster gear changing in formula one, and a means to keep the drivers hands on the wheel at all times... but i understand what your saying I like the traditional way of shifting gears

  • that song ur listening 2. distubed ;)

  • its more like a semi-auto.

  • your link in the description is messed up

  • hi there....

while u shift up or down...do u take the foot off the gas????

can u pls give me a step-by-stey msg on acceleration n deceleration

  • You don't let off the gas to shift....just hit the button!

  • how do i get one will it work for gs

  • how much was this car im 18 buying my second car i heard you can get this for under 7 k is that true

  • Um, no. Maybe a 5 year old one that's all beat to hell...it's just under $30K new.

  • thanks man

  • hahaha sounds cooler when you do though:p seems its manual..and well, you obviously lose hell of a lot of seconds but its fun :) I have a lancer gts 09 you can check my vids too :)

nice car man...wish I had that one instead hehe but I'm happy with mine :)

  • ??? What are you talking about? What do you mean you lose seconds???

  • Letting off the gas for every shift haha

you lose seconds from 0-60 but it sounds like a manual tranny

  • Um...NO. You don't let off the gas at all...you keep it pinned on the floor and just hit the button...you've obviously never driven a SportTronic...

  • you're not getting it...hahaha

I'm saying i let off the gas so it SOUNDS like a manual transmission...look at my vids, I have a Lancer GTS 2009 that's why i said you lose seconds.

  • @bsj8377 does it have a clutch?

  • Nope, no clutch. You just hit the button and it shifts, everything is computer controlled.

  • ok thanks great video man.

  • So is this the same way the operation on a 2010 Lancer Ralliart would be with the twin-clutch sportronic shift transmission package?

  • Don't know much about the Lancer, but I'm sure there's no clutch in a Sportronic...operation should be the same. But they have paddle shifters stock, the eclipse doesn't.

  • do you have to clutch?

  • No, there is no clutch...it's an automatic with sport shift

  • When you have to upshift,do you let go of the gas then shift like driving a standard or just push the plus sign.

  • Just hit the button...full throttle doesn't matter...

  • I have owned both the sport-tronic and now have a manual 6-spd. both are sweet of course but I have to say manual still slays - simply b/c of the control it allows - the sporttronic does not give the same level - but is of course easier/less demanding to drive.

    2008 GT:

RIPP Stg.2 SDS + fuel management, ECU control, etc + methonal liquid cooling system

    Long Tube Headers + Injen 3" cat-back.

    = 430 WHP (~490 @ the crank)

  • I love sportstornic I think a lil better then a regular manual car. 2006 eclipse gt owner. Nice mod by the way!

  • DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY... i dont have an auto but that is nasty... great work!

  • wat if im drivin the car and its goin like 40mph and i put it into the regular auto drive will that mess up the engine and wen u shift do u have to let go of the gas and shift

  • You can change drive modes whenever you want...it won't hurt anything. And NO, you don't have to let off the gas.

  • ok thanks

  • theres still a clutch pedal right?

psh, idk; i dont even drive a manual haha

  • It's an AUTO with sport shift...there isn't any clutch pedal!

  • alright. i was looking into a mazda rx8 with that sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and just thought it had a clutch pedal

  • so you kinda made the automatic shifting to manual??

  • I guess you could say that!

  • how much you charging for those?

  • They are $149

  • did you just take the leads from the automanual switches, and hook them up onto the audio controls?

  • No, you can't do that, I built a controller that samples the voltages on each of the switches and sends the appropriate signal to the shifting controls.

  • i heard tire screeching.. sheer power of the eclipse coupled with paddle shifters...

  • Ok lets say ur in 5 th gear and u decrease to the point where u shopuld be in 1 st gear but u dont will the car drop to first by its self or do u have to do it

  • It will downshift for you...it has a specific profile the car is programmed for from the factory. You have to be going pretty slop though before it will downshift...moreso meant for if you forget to downshift after coming to a stop at a light.

  • ok thanks so wat ur saying it will do it but after a while so it dosenot damage da engine

  • when u use the paddle shift on any car do u have to release the gas pedal before u shift?

  • No you don't...just hit the paddle under full throttle...works the same here...

  • Do all Eclipse with the RF-650 stereo have the steering wheel controls? That's a sweet mod!

  • I believe they do...it comes with the premium sound system...

  • hey can i ask?

is it ok when i put the drive mode to sport shift mode while the car is running? or should i stop first then i'll put the drive mode to sport shift mode just like you did on the vid?

  • You can switch back and forth at any time...moving or not doesn't matter...

  • ok thanks!

  • hey man, i like the product but the link in the description give's me a "404 link error" page.

  • yeah, it was a couple years old on the forum...I guess it was deleted for some reason...

  • Umm dude. The eclispe does come with the paddle shifters. I'm about to get a eclipse syper and they do infact come with paddle shifters. So your lying and yea.

  • What's with all the idiots on this site? NO US spec eclipse comes with paddle shifters as of the 2009 model year, and the 2010's haven't been released yet...I built this unit from the ground up, it's what I do. Show me one Mitsubishi link that shows an 06-09 eclipse coming with paddle shifters...you can't. Get your facts straight before you post.

  • maybe youre thinking of the lancer/evo?

cuz those actually have paddle shifters

  • i like the music

  • Thats badass! I have a 06 eclipse gt, how did you do that?

  • Thats an awesome Mitsubishi !

  • this is my gf. account but i was wondering is it ok to downshift? bcuz i no my lancer gts 2009? it automatically goes back to 0 when it comes to complete stop but is it safe to downshift if like ur in 5th gear cuz it kicks back a little someone told me it's bad for the tranny?

  • It's fine to downshift...

  • ive got the same car but i havent really used the paddle shifters. Down shifting should be fine but up shifting is what should be focused on.

  • all i care about is tht scratch goes into 2nd on manual override....wat are they putting in these things now adays 3.8L, RWD yet?

  • 3.8L....FWD

  • Mmmm nice bit of disturbed

  • Hey, do you still sell these?

  • i couldnt tell where the button was, but it looks like theres some duct tape back there haha

  • Um, no. It's obvious you didn't read the description...the unit uses the factory installed audio controls that are on the back of the steering wheel. When in sport mode the audio controls become the paddle shift controls.

  • yeah, i didnt read it lol... whats up with the tape? got to much into drivin huh? haha jk

  • There is no tape...what you see is the steering column...plastic parts that are underneath the steering column covers!

  • well does the mod still work with the cover over the column?

  • Of course, you just have to remove the cover for installation...

  • I really love how you do that with the Sportronic. Makes the car take off like a rocket! Congrats and good luck on that! Sportronic 4 life!

  • so how similar to a manual is it? If you floor it in first gear and don't shift up is the automatic going to kick in?

  • No. You have to put the car in sport mode for the module to activate. Once you're in sport mode, you are responsible for shifting, that's how the car works. If you don't shift you'll go into the rev limiter, just like on a manual.

  • I saw these on Tearstone. This is aftermarket engineering at its finest :) Pretty sweet product, if only I didn't have a Dodge Stratus SE ahhahah.

  • Thanks for the compliment!

  • ya what up with link i got 03 will it work with mine.

  • I don't know if it'll work on 03 or not...never been tested on a 3g

  • Are you still in business? did this go on sale? Why is your link not working?

  • Yes, yes, and what link doesn't work?

  • do u gotta let foot off gas when u shift with that? like a MT or can u just keep gasing and shifting

  • No you don't have to let off the gas...just keep it floored and hit the button when you want to shift!

  • dam dats hot... i h8 them ppl that say these cars suck they r like really hott and they just jelous and cant afford one lol nice shifter i like dat

  • How do you install it?

  • Comes with an install DVD...you can do it in about 10 minutes...attaches to a few wires in the console and two in the steering column...pretty easy install...

  • i have two questions, first does this work on a GS? and second does it mess with the warranty?

  • Yes, it works with the GS...and no, it shouldn't mess with your warranty

  • do you let go of the gas when you up shift

  • NO...the Sportronic tranny shifts up just like if you used the shifter, no need to let up on the gas...

  • I meant I "wish" the car was lighter

  • Yeah, it would be alot faster than it is if it were a little lighter...

  • Man you know a lot about the eclipse. I like your thinking. Its a nice car I was it was just lighter, and I wish that It offered a dual exhaust option. Thats pretty cool with the shifters there

  • is that your stock sound system, sounds good!

  • Yep, stock Premium Sound package...Rockford Fosgate 650w.

  • So you don't have audio while in sport mode?

  • You still have audio...just the audio controls on the wheel are now used for shifting...if you want to turn the volume up on the radio you have to use the volume knob on the radio.

  • do the paddles move long with the wheel?

  • The "paddles" are the factory audio controls on the back of the steering wheel.

  • The song is by Disturbed...the name of it is 'Stricken'

  • what song is that playing?

  • i would rather drive stick i love clutchin!

  • why not just get a stick shift?

  • I've had a stick for the better part of 15 years...I'm tired of shifting...and traffic SUCKS w/stick. This gives you the convenience of auto, but allows you to shift at peak power when racing.

  • i guess you wanted an alternative. i got a stick shift car and always stuck in LA traffic... shifting does not bother me.

  • for one thing the paddle shifters are starting to become all sequential which are MUCH faster then a true stick.

  • may be, but stick is true driving for me

  • These units are now available at Tearstone Performance!

  • thats bad ass i wounder if i can do that to my endeavor

  • I was thinking about offering for the 3G, but i'd have to test it out to make sure it worked with the 3G switches...most likely it will be a direct swap, but it might need a different program...if I could get my hands on a 3G I could tell you.

  • do u have any for a G3

  • The cost for the basic unit as shown in this video is $125 + shipping. There are other options available...to activate NOS, boost control, etc.etc.

  • This IS NOT an option from the factory...and it DOES NOT come on any Eclipse...this is a product that I have designed and will be selling to the public shortly...if you want more info, please click on the description to this video for a link which has a ton of info as well as Q+A. Thanks!

    Brian

  • how much?

i find the sportronic to be such a novelty, it is distracting still

  • yeh...i got the 06 eclipse too and i tried shifting with the audio controls didnt work for up and downshifting...how come?

  • Does it come stock on Gt models 06 and 07?

  • not always i have gt and im disappointed, i didnt realize it could switch for stereo either. thats the gay ass factory for ya, theyre the ones that want 2g's for those sick aero effects. they look so good theyre worth paying for sad as it is
