This reminds me of McNamara who published a book 20+ years after the Vietnam war saying he KNEW it was a CF and more than 50,000 people died and it haunted him. I'm not naive enough to believe anyone should trust the gut instinct of someone they've never met about someone I never met, but he strikes me as one of those people that isn't necessarily a fast thinker, but when he takes time, sits down, and starts working things through, he will work it through to the end and look any uncomfortable truths in the face.

No one called McClellan's account lies, they call his disclosures "disappointing". This means "we're sadened to see our friend give away our secrets and our lies. We never thought he would stop covering up for us".

After no weapons or manufacturing plants were found all of a sudden the reason changed to "we are bringing freedom to the Iraqi people". FUCK the Iraqi people. Interesting how that goes. The administration is so unpopular that everybody who was involved in it seems to be trying to distance themselves from everything that's happened so they don't get blamed.
I don't dispute that the Bush administration has made many bad decisions, nor that they're unusually secretive. However, things that happen can't be nobody's fault; I find it hard to believe that EVERYBODY involved is innocent. And if they all thought it was so shady, why did nobody speak up?
