  • Amen too what bellaBelluci69 said

  • Would've been great if all the artsy video blurring had been left out, still a great performance by Sarah, one of my favorites.

  • one of the best concerts i

  • I had row 13 center seats at Anaheim Pond in 2006 amazing show

  • SHE'S AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 3 people don't know what it feels like to have your entire plane of existence rocked.

  • amazing

  • 3 people are idiots... this is heaven sent - from the lyrics to vocal performace... No words can't describe her voice quality...

  • I come back here every now and then to enjoy :)

  • Well this is freakin' amazing. Damn, that girl's got some pipes! *swoon*

...but what's up with the whole minute of dead time at the end? Not very playlist friendly. Guess it'll have to be at the very end.

  • Holy vocal control!

  • HOW TO RESTORE AMERICA'S FREEDOM

Surround those who are captives of fear with laughter, love, inclusion, honesty, and acceptance of their unique diversity.

Say No to the bullies when needed, to deflate their fear-based egos and prevent them from using fear to enslave others.

This will help people to restore their peacefully wild spirits. This will help us all to restore America's freedom.

  • My favorite SMcL song...incredible, wish I had seen it live.

  • She's ethereal!!!

  • je suis fan

  • the woman's a goddess

  • inside her, lives an angel :]

  • shitty concert film but awesome music

  • it appears 3 people have a fear of beauty

  • MAN! Breathe taking. Favourite bit is 2:16. ♥ Awesome.

    ♫ A.A.

  • I, love her muice.and I lisen to it when I have a headache

  • And also the mark of a true artist is to having multiple versions of one song and the live versions being equally stellar or better than the album version.. I have this version, the Mirrorball version and the LP version and I still can't decide which one I love more. I love the outerworld feeling of the album version and the way she does the "do dud do duh do" at the end, I love Mirroball's ending and how she changes it up. Ditto for the Afterglow version. All those high notes are delicious

  • maravilhoso, surpreendente

  • 2:18 for the win!!!

  • Sarah cannot be compared to anyone (please stop trying!) in terms of complexity, stage presence, attention to detail, professionalism of performance, and dare I say spirituality and even sensuality with the possible exception of Dido, and even then, Sarah's in a whole other universe above her. Her voice is literally heaven sent in my opinion.

This is the music of a higher plane of existence.

  • @BellaBellucci69 please, define "universe".

  • @BellaBellucci69 Loreena McKennit is pretty awesome as well.

  • Why would anybody dislike this? I don't understand.

  • @YoussefFishere I know right? Sarah is one of the most amazing singers ever. Her voice is so beautifully haunting, especially with this song.

  • @YoussefFishere there always are crazies who hate everything!

  • My husband and I love her she is the BEST! Her range in music is truly a heavenly gift.

  • Сара просто богиня!

  • Why all the dead space at the end of the video?

Other than that, holy fucking oh my god.

  • AMAZE!!

  • This was at the Molson Amphitheatre in Toronto - summer of 2004 or 2005 (?) ..I was at this concert - amazing!

  • @imka170

thank you imka...can't stop watching this...

  • When/where was this performance?

  • I know she is singing REALLY high and all but i couldnt help but laugh at 3:24 XD

  • pure beauty

  • To enjoy my beer, today, I choose this performance.......

  • Sarah is an A-R-T-I-S-T, meaning that she not only performs, but writes her own material. Like Elton John recently said, the problem with most of today's mainstream music is that these "performers" don't write their own material and are totally dependent and are only as good as the material furnished to them. Sarah, on the other hand, is a true artist, both writing and performing. She bows to NO ONE!!!

  • god, she is so talented!

  • can't even describe how much I love this... thanks so much for posting

  • Fear is love

    Love is fear

    Glad for the love

    Sad for the fear

    Thankfull I felt real love!

  • SPELLBINDING

  • When I die and go to heaven, this is the voice of the angels i will hear, amazing lady!

  • She is the Women, she is the Voice..

  • Beyonce is a decent performer, but vocally talented wise, shes a pawn and Sarah is the Queen.

  • @Pyrochyde And I've only been saying that since forever and no one in my circle gets it. I'm told that I'm an Aunt Thomasina for saying this and that's fine with me. As far as I'm concerned my holy trinity of female voices are Whitney/Mariah (They come as one to me), Sarah, and Teena Marie. Deal with it people. Beyoncé wishes she could do what Sarah doesn't even have to try to do. Sarah McLachlan writes, arranges, sings live, and plays instrument. She is END GAME. Period.

  • @Vitaluv . Try out "Skin" of Skunk Anansie (UK) cause that Woman is so vocally talented with a twist. just saying,

  • @vanindigo Yes, I absolutely love "You'll Follow Me Down"

  • SHE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Wow. 1:55 was AMAZING!

  • Is it true that her husband is Pakistani?

  • @kaliyuta Sarah and Ashwin separated in 08 and have since divorced. He is of Punjabi descent though I fail to see what the significance of his heritage is to this video.

  • @MNWreckingCrew There is no significance at all and i don't believe i stated otherwise.I am a admirer of her music for many years. My ex is also Carachi-Punjabi decent and he is the one that told me this one day when we were listening to her together.

  • @kaliyuta

    no...and they are divorced

  • I always wondered how this would sound live. It was such a heavily-produced song on the album. Sounds great here, though!

  • I love this song and really wish i could hit those high notes like she does!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • She is the best!

  • Gosh she's gorgeous.

  • Wow! Goose bumps

  • She is not a singer. She is The Singer..

  • A masterpiece of a song. Both the album and the live version. I thought I would die of emotion when I listened to the live version on CD the first time. But we have to admit her two last albums are much weaker than Mirrorball.

  • 2.43 :) Amazing song BTW, FTE is my all-time favourite album..She can't be compared to other singers...

  • I love this song! Really liked the ending of this song on her Mirrorball album, but here....it's alright. She rocks! :)

  • Underrated equals quality, mainstream equals watered down garbage, I'd rather artists like this be underrated in this current climate. We can appreciate the quality, if other people miss out on this, their loss......At least we can appreciate this in full flow, rather than watered down over-produced junk. Thanks Sarah

  • I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE her!!! So freakin amazing!!!!!!!

  • egad... this song is so great and she really tore it up here. Absolutely amazing! I agree with the previous poster that stated Fumbling Toward Ecstasy was the greatest singer/songwriter album of all time. Sarah is an incredible talent. And she doesn't have to be all erotically charged to put on a great show. Class act from a talent that speaks for itself.

  • "Fumbling towards Ecstacy" without a doubt the greatest album by singer/songwriter. I always loved the songs but open the little paper in the CD and read the words-you'll find something that speaks to your life. Amazing album-I still have my original CD from Sam Goody.

  • She's really impressive! A real talent! Unfortuately underrated, in Italy is so difficult to find her CDs :-(

  • She's amazing! Great performance!

  • there is not a bad song on Fumbling Towards Ecstasy...i wish she still made music like this......

  • Here is the conudrum. How do you put your faith in a musc industry that only boasts this type of talent 1 every three billion wannabe artists? Sarah McL. is the truth in living color. This girl transcends race, creed, religion, gender, and all the soical structures we put on society just by opening up her heavenly mouth. When she sings, I am completely humbled. And she seems to be an awesome person. Just did my third lilith fair and was blown away by Sarah.

  • Simply put: wow.

  • Love it! And if you're a fan of Sarah, you'll also love Loreena McKennitt! Check out her "Book of Secrets", (most will recognize her "Mummer's Dance") and "Marrakesh Night Market" from her "Mask and Mirror" album. All of her albums are wonderful. Sarah, Alanis, Loreena -- those Canadian songbirds are especially blessed!

  • @chaliceguard

mummers dance is such a good song. i do my yoga flow to that song.

  • Sarah ia amazing live

  • This is probably one of the most greatest songs of all time... and sarah's voice is so amazing and unique...

  • Wow even the high notes she sings perfect! She's really good live! You can't say that from a lot of other singers, she's really talented!

  • i have nothing against britney or beyonce, i dont want to see them singing this song tho, well i admire sarah skills as singer ofc that was great performance!!!!

  • it's funny how even though we're watching Sarah McLachlan, everyone fights about Britney and Beyonce. In my opinion Britney is a failure at singing. She sounds like she is singing straight through her nose. Beyonce is good though.

  • @razrv3lc Both did a live cover of You Oughta Know, and both actually SANG LIVE on it. Beyonce was horrible. Britney was shockingly amazing.

When Britney can sing a song live better than you, you're a joke. Therefore, Beyonce is a joke.

  • "Fumbling Towards Ecstacy" ..the greatest album in music history by a singer/songwriter?

    Without a doubt, yes.

  • @gravelandgrain100 It is really hard to disagree with that...Fumbling Towards Ecstacy is such a genius album...it is pretty much perfect. And this is coming from a guy who mostly listens to Thrice and bands like that.

  • @grsurflove FTE is my favourite album by anyone anytime. Second would be Paul Simon - Graceland, followed by Janis Joplin - Pearl. I didn't like Circle or Fear at first, but they have grown on me and Fear is now one of my favourites! Saw Sara at Lilith on Saturday in Toronto...wowzers.

  • @fumbler8 You saw her live, huh? That must have been sick, she is a ridiculous talent. "Fear" is a great tune; I think there is a song called "Elsewhere" from the FTE album, Track # 6 if my memory serves me right, that I also think is really good...yeah, it is an incredible album, no doubt, full of good-to-great songs.

  • one of the most amazing songs ever!! ;)

  • That harmony starting at 2:00 is just... perfect. We all know Sarah is amazing, but kudos to the back up singer(s) as well.

  • ♥

  • What an incredible performance! I really believe Fear is her best song. It's so beautiful and haunting. It's not just my favorite Sarah McLachlan song, it's one of my favorite songs of all time!

  • @WinterSleep85 I am in the middle of composing my Top 100 songs of all time. To put that in perspective, let me tell you that I am 40 years old and have been listening to music most of my life. I'm not done with my list yet, but I can tell you that this song is in my Top 20. It's just the most hauntingly beautiful song I've ever heard.

  • One of the few artists to make it big that actually deserve it...an incredible vocalist, musician, and songwriter...I used to take flak when I was a Sergeant in the US Army Infantry for being a big fan of this woman, but her music is incredible.

  • Her and josh groban both sing like angels from heaven

  • best version of this song yet, her voice is magnificent, a true artist, come to Mty, Mexico Sarah!!!!! :)

  • Her voice soars with an angel's wings. I would love to be able to sing like her. What a talented woman.

  • so so true

  • I was never a huge fan of Sarah Mclachlan and only really listened to two of her songs as well as some remixes and her collaboration with Delerium for Silence...after this, I have to say, I'm a HUGE fan!

That was amazing...this is why I always watch live performances of artists and bands before officially saying I'm in love with them...for this amazing passion true artists have that just makes me feel I have no words at all that could ever describe it

  • Best musician ever..most talent!!

  • Amazing how she jumps up a whole scale, like it's as easy.....wow. goose bumps for sure!

  • she sings like an angel!

  • WOWOWOWOWOW she is like the 5th wunder of the world! Theat is AMAZING!!!!!!

    HEAVENLY!

  • goosebumps all over my body...magnificent

  • Let's see, salt, pepper, ketchup, chocolate, Chevrolet, Harley-Davidson, apple pie, a few dollars in our pockets, and Sara. Things we can't do without.

  • This is one of the first songs that I learned how to sign in ASL. It signs just as beautiful as it soundsIt conveyed exactly my own internal struggles being a divorced mom and raising my beautiful handicapped daughter. I am very protective of my daughter, and protective of our time together. Not many people in my life at that time could understand that I had so much vested in her, that they would have to take a back seat or get out of the car!

  • ok the hair is standing on the back of my neck, and I don't have much but peach fuzz there, but it's standing alright!

  • i love you sarah!

  • Outstanding!!!!! I hope she sings for as long as she can, because she was put on this world with a rare gift..... and she knows how to use it!!!!!! Goosebumbs everytime!!!! xx

  • Just gotta love the celtic effects in this song :D

  • This song was used in the pilot episode of Roswell during a critical scene to very good effect. Great series, if you've never caught it, I highly recommend it.

  • Love Sarah, love Roswell.

  • Perfection!!

  • Love her ,she gives me goosebumps. one of my fav artists, nice to see someone sing live so very well

  • I'd like to see Britney, Beyonce and the rest of those prefabricated bimbos try to sing this song live!

  • lol makes me think it's time to start burning witches again but this time we'll use a talent test instead of throwing 'em in a pond and seeing if they float :) the world could use less frauds

    awesome performance

  • @archer1949 beyonce could! shes an amazing vocalist

  • @chubsykins -

Beyonce would not be allowed to vacuum Sarah's dressing room-so take your opinion over to the Justin Bieber-hump o'the minute club. Move it along, only real music lovers permitted here dude.

  • @archer1949 lol...no kidding

  • @archer1949

Pretty strange to put Beyonce and Britney in the same category - Beyonce its a quite accomplished singer.

  • @morten4u i think it's just meant to say that they as talented as they may seem they are still overrated compared to artist that dont use sex as a way to sale music.

  • @archer1949 I have no problem with you complimenting Sarah's immense talent, but I don't think you need to put down other performers to praise Sarah. Britney and Beyonce are also very talented; however, they sing a different style of music (plus they sing while dancing, not an easy thing to do). So, it's kinda comparing apples with oranges.

  • @archer1949 each is very unique, this is sarahs magic. those other stars have their own magic

  • @archer1949 Diddo!

  • @archer1949

I agree Sarah is Goddess supreme but Beyonce is amazing in her own right. Look up Halo live.

  • @archer1949 Gosh I wanted to give you 1000 thumbs up for this comment!

  • GOOD DAY

  • DIESSSSSSSSSSSS ERMF UGH ERMF

  • I love love Sarah. One of the few artists that sounds better live than on cd!! I love her music! Her voice! And damn she's HAWT!!! =) Bring on Lilith Fair!!! Cant wait!! weeeee!!!!!

  • mmm i saw this tour! i could swear that this was filmed at my show: she got the high notes spot-on. absolutely divine voice.

  • Sarah is one of the best musicians out there today! Her music truely knows how to move someone emotionally and spirtually! Not many artists today that can do that.

    I love you Sarah!!!!

  • I love love love the way she sings the last bit of this song

  • Wow !!!!!!

  • <3 love LOVE THIS VERSION OF THE SONG!!! AND THOSE NOTES SHE HITS!!!!!!!!!! GOOD GOD!!!!!

  • christ I can't believe she can pull off the high notes so easily and cleanly live

  • Wow that was incredible :)

  • My fav Sarah song!

  • such an underrated singer!!

  • @661boss she is not under rated. in fact she is one of the most known artist in over 5 generations. all through the 80's and 90's and now the 200's she has sung her heart out. many people respect her. just because she isnt announced like those other artsit, doesnt mean she is under rated. make a servey. millions of people know and respect her. she is a legend of her own. and that is enough said., her voice i wonderfully incredible. you cant compare water and syrup

  • I manage an opera singer and I make her sing this to hear her range.

  • So true.

  • How much I love you Sarah Mclachlan.

  • awesome ... such a beautiful voice ... it was a plessure for me to see her live in London ...

    loved her

  • This is just insane.... I love this song so much, gives me goosebumps and brings me to tears almost every time I hear it.

  • Lord..when she goes to those high notes...chills all over. She rocks!!!

  • They aren't even in the same spiritual class as Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos and Kate Bush, nevermind the intellectual and musical one.

That said, Sarah McLachlan is in a class all by herself. I think I love her more than Tori and Kate, and that's hard to do. I was put off when I saw her back in the early 90's at the Orpheum in New Orleans. She is now incredible, and blows me away with her talent.

  • her high voice is so beautiful!

  • This song gives me goosebumps! One of many faves by Sarah!

  • Wouldnt you give anything to sing like that?

  • great song! very impressive version! I just couldn't believe in what I was listening! it's amazing! just love it!

  • This song is incredible! and too beautiful

  • I think I like this version even better than the one on the CD! Thanks for posting . . . anyone know what arena that was? And why it abruptly cuts out and has what seems to be over a minute of nothing but black?

  • WOW!!

  • Great song, great singer but disappointed that this was NOT the "mirror ball" version, I guess where at the end of the song Sarah cries out this blood-curdling last note that fades with the music. When I first heard that, it gave me goosebumps of fear in the beautiful but scared desperation that her voice had let out as if she was left alone in a dark room of unseen and unknown terrors. I was hoping to hear that sweet but agonizing emotion filled conclusion at the end of the performance! ;-(

  • those high notes are insane. Good singing voice.

  • One can sometimes be so accustomed to the loneliness that it has consumed your system, but still, one wishes that the loneliness would eventually end. But if the sweet moment of true love will arrive, one (at least I am) afraid that due to the lack of experience, i will insecurely throw the chance of happiness away. But the desire to get away from the loneliness is strong, but the fear of losing losing (more) is stronger.

  • you pretty much summed up my life right now

  • Comment removed

  • Well mine too, I often get afraid of the lonliness not ending and if it does me accidently throwing it away by pushing them away, I think it's a good thing at least us with those issues can relate to others

  • exactly :)

  • I was at the concert-there are no words to describe the voice of this beautiful woman!

You're amazing Sarah, never forget this!!!!
