what's wrong with paramore? i think it's kind of cool to have a female-fronted band with a somewhat heavier sound be so popular. Sure, they're kind of overexposed right now and their involvement with the whole Twilight disaster is pretty horrifying but they worked really hard to get where they are. I'm not really that into them but kill them? That's a little extreme.
i think the fact that young women have a strong female in popular rock to admire is a positive, not a negative? i'm not really sure why you're acting like teenage girls are somehow a less valid group of listeners than other age/gender groups. as someone who was a teenage girl up until about 3 months ago, I take offense to the suggestion that something that appeals to young women is somehow bad or less worthy than some that appeals to, say, young men.
I'm talking about a specific "sect" of teenage girls, I did not mean to imply that teenage girls have bad taste. One of my best friends, a teenage girl, has excellent taste in music (bowie, etc.) but frankly, a "strong female figure" isn't enough to support a bad band, music isn't about role models. Like I said, emo/faux punk. That's why I dislike them.

Paramore is, in my opinion, a teenage girl oriented, emo/faux punk band. If you like them, that's cool, like what you wanna like.
