@ttrrissttaan Well.. I'm pretty sure that's not how evolution was described to me in school. However, you may be right. Who really knows? It's a theory. It's not a perfect theory. I don't particularly agree with every bit of it, but I'm pretty sure parts of the theory have been proven. In fact I can prove some of it to you any time you like. If you have so much faith it can't hurt to hear exactly how you are wrong, right? I guess we'll see.

Another movie about Thompson that gets little attention compared to Fear and Loathing is Where the Buffalo Roam, with Bill Murray as Thompson. His voice sounds exactly like Hunter's. So, he as well as Johnny did Hunter a good level of justice.

Also not to mention he looked just like him too.

@AnonymousWR Yes! The hotel scene:). I think the reason Depp did so well is because he spent countless hours with him. I've been told Depp and Thompson spend a few days in a hotel doing all sorts of drugs but I cant find proof of it.

I would hazard to guess he is afflicted with Asperger's syndrome. His inability to look in Letterman's eyes and his nervous manner are big clues. It is a form of Autism, but those afflicted are highly functional.They are usually above average in intelligence, there is speculation that Einstein was also afflicted. Amazing that HST was able to capture those wild thoughts and write them down. A brilliant author of our generation.

Well in reality, there's indeed not too much point saying these things since the unwashed masses only BELIEVE what they want to believe, which is in 99,9% of cases what they've been spoonfed. They can not explore data independently or check and address an argument and must typically rely on an insipid kind of cynicism mixed with a solid dose of agression.
However, it might be of use to a few lone, discerning individuals...
