This isn't the same Ironhide as G1. This isn't the same anything from G1. It's the same premise, two robot factions fighting on Earth for power, but that's it. Michael Bay is NOT making G1.

There have been lots of Ironhides around, and this is by far the one that resembles the G1 one the most (one Ironhide was even a woman). TF doesnt have to respect characters aside from the main archetypes which, at the time of the movie, were Optimus, Megatron and Starscream. There is no REAL Ironhide, as Ironhide is just a name, in fact, there were "worse" changes in the movie characters than that.

Il agree that the way Bay designed his Transformers was a bit odd, and not at all like they normally did (Why was ratchet yellow?) But the move its self was pretty good, but it is totally AU. But they ARE good movies.

@TheSinep999 A dumb concept called Mass-Shifting is supposed to allow that to happen. One of the few things Michael Bay left out, that I applaud him for. If G1 Transformers like Soundwave & Blaster were able to fold inwards to become smaller, they would still weigh the same. So either they would be extremely light in robot mode, or too heavy in radio-cassette player modes for humans to pick up.

This isn't the same Ironhide as G1. This isn't the same anything from G1. It's the same premise, two robot factions fighting on Earth for power, but that's it. Michael Bay is NOT making G1.

Dude, if you are so fan of the transformers, where have you been all this years?
There have been lots of Ironhides around, and this is by far the one that resembles the G1 one the most (one Ironhide was even a woman). TF doesnt have to respect characters aside from the main archetypes which, at the time of the movie, were Optimus, Megatron and Starscream. There is no REAL Ironhide, as Ironhide is just a name, in fact, there were "worse" changes in the movie characters than that.

There are a lot of stupid shit that was done in the original cartoon that could have been left out in the films. instead, they focused on what sucked about them and amplified them. But here, I'm showing there's a difference in the personalities of one character. Now, if their personalities were put in two humans in one flick, I would say, this version is a lousy character. The cartoons version, though flawed, is certainly more heroic & likeable

@TheSinep999 A dumb concept called Mass-Shifting is supposed to allow that to happen. One of the few things Michael Bay left out, that I applaud him for. If G1 Transformers like Soundwave & Blaster were able to fold inwards to become smaller, they would still weigh the same. So either they would be extremely light in robot mode, or too heavy in radio-cassette player modes for humans to pick up.
