Your vocals aren't bad when you are singing out. However when you are trying to sing softer, you almost those parts. Sing softly, but with intensity... if that makes any sense. Don't try to make the softer parts falsely emotional by twanging your voice unnecessarily. If you are doing it right, do don't need to do any of that. Good job and keep working on it.

You are a good guitarist and your singing is good, you just need to work on your range. I would just sing this song or another one you have problems "hitting" the high notes on about a thousand times (seriously) and you'll get it in no time. You're almost there now, just a bit of work.
