  • I love all the Truthettes songs , thank you ladies.

  • This takes me back 6 years ago when my granddaddy used to drive me in the outskirts of Darlington county on a very cloudy day, and it rained a bit. That was my favorite weather. R.I.P Lavance Addison Sr. 1932-2009. We were just Siting next to each other the year before.

  • @ nikkisvideos-me too

  • they are awesome i grew up listening to them and meet tutu in person!!!

  • I think this music was one of the first moves of God, and it's wonderful. But don't you want to see this generation have that same kind of hunger? We focus so much on the "good ol days" we are not focusing on how to influence this generation with the sound that will penetrate their souls.

  • i was super young when this song came out. im about to be 31 now and i still love it my mom used to play it all the time

  • wow, i havent heard this song in forever. My mom played the Truthettes ALLLLLLL the time. Them and the Clark sisters. Im 33 now and i never knew what this song meant but now that im listening to it for the first time in over 20 years, i understand it now. Wish my mom had a youtube account(or that she'd just touch a computer and join the rest of the world lol) so she could see all her classic and great gospels artists.

  • This is the song of all time. This reminds me of myself

  • who would dislike this song? smh

  • when i first heard the truthettes i was 13yrs old & now i'm 40 & know evry song by heart. sooo luvn the truthettes

  • @ both arguing about the song....LOL Although the messages is deep the song is dumb........unfortunately it was the best way for a generation of our people with sub par educations to express themselves. compare the lyrics of most of these old groups songs to the songs of the Winans and Commissioned Or Take Six or Daryl coley. The "offspring" of music like this that were educated so they refrained , to a point, from using PB&J Or Breakfast foods to compare their love for God. LOL

  • I'm sorry....I love gospel music....but this song is whack. I remember on a family trip to Florida....this song came on and I never will forget the look on my dads face as he couldn't change the station fast enough after the the lady finishes the story and starts singing. Just because its gospel doesn't mean its good. LMAO.

  • @Certain Are you Serious. If you get the meaning and understand the perspective in which this song was written then you can understand it CLEARLY. You laughing at a person desiring to be saved. The message in this song is that he didn't want any PHYSICAL food, he wanted something that would feed his spirit. You see physical food (peanut butter and jelly) can't do what the Word of God can. The boy wanted his soul to be save, he wanted God, he wanted the word of God. BUt you are Laughing WOW

  • @4IceBreaker OH TRUST ME....I understand clearly what the song is saying. No explanation needed. I'm not laughing at the message, I'm laughing at the song. Its terrible. From the melody to the lyrics. Its bad execution. Again, just because its a gospel song does not automatically make it a great song. And this is a shining example of that. Get over yourself. I grew up in the church. I've been exposed to GREAT gospel music for 28 years. This ain't it. Get over it or go shoot yourself.....

  • @Certain Once you again you over looked the MEANING. You are a grown person and that means you have your own opinion. I'm just saying GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SONG, for its the themusic that will save you, understand the meaning. And are you serious Shoot Myself, wow, didn't know people minds were like that. But like you said you only been exposed to gospel music for 28 years. The Bible says in All Get An UNDERSTANDING, doesn't matter how the word sounds just ensure you understand

  • @4IceBreaker No...ONCE AGAIN, I completely understand the meaning. It's not as if this is type of epic poem by Homer that has to be deciphered line by line. Trust me, I understand exactly what they are singing about. But the song is whack. A song has to have more than just a message. I feel like I'm repeating myself. How hard is that to understand? Musically and lyrically the song is sub par. Its just that simple. I don't have a problem with the message though. But I never ever said I did.

  • @Certain Are U Serious.

  • It's sounds like these that remind us of God's goodness and grace!

  • I have loved this song for years, the only words that I remember singing as a kid is the part about not wanting no more peanut butter and jelly... and til this day every single time I make a P&J sandwich I sing this song to my kids and they laugh at me but for some reason this song has stuck with me....thanks for posting now my kids can finally hear the song for themselves.

  • OLD SKOOL At its best. Simplicity, no grandstanding. The message is simple . Your soul must hunger to be saved . Peanut butter and jelly will not fill the hunger that your soul thirst. • God bless u vinno the liZard

  • My LORD! I instantly (in my mind) went back 26 years to Thine Will COGIC, I was 6 years old and singing this song with the State of Nebraska Sunshine Band. My mind then fast forwarded to 1994 when I made my way to the pulpit and delclared my soul salvation. They weren't sing this song but I was sho'nuff hungry for something greater than me. And every since I partaken of Him everyday has been sweeter than the day before...I'm glad He saved my soul.

  • Nothing about this is brainwashing. Obviously u're one of those ignorant ppl that knows NOTHING about God. And as far as niggers go...MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK & I LOOOOVE IT!!!!

  • Hey ladyray you don't have to entertain the devil that is what he do best he uses people to be ignorant. You have to pray for those who do not know the Lord. They do not understand

  • Awesome! Classic! Truth!

  • I took a chance looking for this song. If u know this song then u definitely grew up in church!

  • Halelujah LORD!

  • i love this song my grandma use to sinf this to me

  • Man I can remember singing this song as a little boy. Since I went to church on Saturday my brothers and sister would clean the house on Sunday..... I can smell the Pine-Sol now LOL!!!

  • didnt get this at first and thought why peanut butter and jelly. but i get it now, and my mama told me bout this song last wk for first time it was out when she was in her 20's. She had went to a "singin" and said that "that Tu Tu used to show out". But now the song has stuck to me and it sounds good

  • @Fatboyjs87 lol at a "singin", thats how my grandma talks

  • what is the meaning of this song i not trying to be mean or funny i never knew

  • What the song is about, is of course natural food wont satisify the soul, so the little boy said he didn't want jsut a sandwich, but he wanted salvation that can only come from the Lord Jesus.

  • so true only Christ can feed us spirtiually.

  • The story of a little boy who became hungry for God, after church he told mama he was hungry, so she went to fix him some PBnJ, assuming his stomach needed food. But he needed the food of God, which is the Word, the bible says man shall not live by bread alone but by everyword that proceeds the mouth of God, and Jesus is the "bread" of life, they that hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled..ect.

  • Yes.... I remember singing this when I was little with my little group. A boy did the talking and I did the adlib/singing....

  • This need to be redone by this group

  • Wow!! I haven't heard this song in so long! My sister used to sit and cry off this song when we were young and I would just laugh and laugh!!! Good memories! Imma fix u a sammich!LOL!

  • This is apart of a special period of my life...brings back some good memories!

  • This song is the one gospel song I will never forget. It is part of a very special period in gospel music.

  • this was the first song i heard by tu-tu -the truthettes. every since i sung nothin but her songs when i was younger

  • Ok, this is a classic! As kids, I remember me & some of my peers laughing at this song (what did we know!!!). Listening to it now I fully understand the meaning of the song. I remember my mother taking me to a gospel concert -or a "singin" as she used to say- in Weequahic Park in Newark, NJ & these girls were there singing this song. Also performing that afternoon was a group called The Biblelettes. Anybody remember them?

  • Yeah I remember dem hairdos!!!!

  • OMG! haven't heard this in years. Thank you!

  • i cannot believe i found this. i remember this song when i was little.

  • one of my all time favorites. i also never thought many knew this song. i have been looking for this song for so long.

  • love this song and its one of my favorites. never hear on radio anymore, had to go to youtube to find it to hear. its a song every child should hear along with their parents, because children are the future and the world is determined by how they are raised and who or what they listen to

  • Amen, my grandma, grandpa, me, my brother, and my cousin used to sing this in the kitchen on Saturday and then on worship service in church on Sunday. Brings back great memories! :)

  • ok i didn't think anyone knew this song other than my family and the group who sang it lol talk about a blast from the past....

  • i song this when i was little

  • Hahaha. I still don't like this song.

  • wow... memories of grandma when i saw this. She LOVED this song

  • I haven't seen these guys in so long. I use to sing in a community choir they started. We had so much fun. Tammy is soooo crazy. I miss those guys.

  • I get the message, but this is definitely for those who love quartets.

  • I heard this for the first time when I went to college in jackson, mississippi...LOL...I was sitting in church and all of a sudden I heard the lead singer singing about peanut butter and jelly and then listening to the words you begin to understand the serious anointed message...those were the days...LOL

  • this is the first song my children learned, they are now 23,25,26- ....WOW.....

  • This song is the reason why I don't like peanut butter and jelly.

  • LMFAO

  • lol...funny...We were not allowed to sing it in chuch because it was so off the wall and the Apostolic's were NOT having it!!...lolol...I am too weak....

  • it may be funny to those who don't know the meaning I was born in 1985. and i can remember my mama listing to this song on sunday.I'm 24 now and its still one of my old favorites

  • This song may appear funny to some who have not ever desired so earnestly, and received a touch from God......but for those who have, we know very well that warm feeling almost like fire inside you, that you will never ever forget........and i suggest if any don't believe me.........I DARE YOU TO ASK GOD FOR THAT TOUCH, and be sincere in your heart!

  • haha this is crazy because i also rememeber listen to this at my grandmother house!!!

  • Wow! This brings back so many members. We used to walk around our grandmother's house singing this song with her.

  • Ohhhhhh,I remember this song when i was like 6 or 7 yrs old and i used to sing it around the house.lol(memories)

  • LOL! Me too!

  • ummmm why them "cymbals" so high...LOL This bring back a lot memories

  • When I was about 10 years old I heard this song for the first time, and I felt like that little boy. I just wanted my soul to be saved. Thank God for simple songs like this that really touch children! I'm 30 now and a youth pastor. Music does really make a difference.

  • then you most definatley have not felt the words of this women. you have to pay attention..she's not speaking from herself..if you are spiritual...you'll understand...if your not..its difficult to understand..she has the spirit all over her

  • I guess i don't understand what her or the person shes singing about is feeling but the lyrics are a bit comical

  • This was my favorite song when I was little! I love it!
