2009 Gotham Stakes (G3) - I Want Revenge

Can't wait to see I Want Revenge finally get back on the track racing for the Suburban Handicap at Belmont. After a longgggggggggggg lay-off from being scratched on the morning of the 09' Kentucky Derby as race favorite. I think Regal Ransom will likely be his toughest competitor in the race. But it's difficult to gauge how well I Want Revenge will run? But if he's back in the kind of form he was in, racing in 2009, he'll be tough. I thought he and Quality Road were the two best of that crop.

I think that this pace was a little slower than some other paces, but he finished very well with a good sharp time of 1:42.3. The half was a crawl 48 and 2. The K Derby usually has a half mile run in 46 to 47, so i think that it was a pretty slow pace.

I personally can't wait for the wood memorial rematch between the top 3. Got to love jeff mullins the master of the santa anita derby (3 wins in a row) to have a horse come east now to showcase his talent. I really like this horse's ability on dirt and his tatical speed is perfect. I don't know if hes bred for a mile and a quarter but this horse has some real ability. I am still an old fashioned fan but this horse is really creeping up on him. Can't wait for april 4th

He does look good but I still feel that Old Fashioned is the horse for the Triple Crown! If you look at this race he had to push himself to get the win! Old Fashioned does it with such ease that you wonder if the horse knows he is a race!

i think its between I want revenge and fresian fire both had strong finishes... but fresian fires was stronger.

Thanks for your comment. As far as I know, Talamo and "I Want Revenge" just won the Grade 1 Wood Memorial Stakes today at Aqueduct. So this should make for a very exciting Derby. Good luck and all the best to you!
