what is your SECOND favorite LAND animal, within the regions of north through south america?(flightless) (can't be amphibious)(exclude reptiles north of mexico)(no mammals south of Brazil)(no pacific islands) (exclude US east coast, michigan, utah, and texas)(non-domestic before 1700)
@Spaghetti745 Well that's your opinion all their fans consider this their best song, if you only like the swing fine, but all of their albums only have about 2 swing songs each so they are far from a swing band, like everyone assumes
WHAT is with all the comparisons to Green Day? This doesn't come remotely, sensibly close to sounding like *pop-punk*, let alone Green Day. If anything, this song sounds heavily influenced by Bad Religion.
@Skibz778 one time i was listenin to some lil wayne and everybody was comparing it to justin beiber. so i guess youtube is just full of senseless users.
I never realized how eclectic CPD were until just recently. From amazing swing like Ding-dong Daddy to pop punk that schools all the popular pop punk groups. I love it. Green Day and Blink 182 should listen to this song and take notes.
This album came out earlier than Zoot Suit Riot. Which inidentally was a "Greatest Hits" type album with a lot of older songs put together I think to get into the then new swing revival.
Kids on the Street is still my all time favorite album of theirs. And Soul Caddy was a good album, but it just didn't have the f-you attitude their earlier stuff was capable of.
funny thing living in boise I rember them as those ska guys from up in bend - glad they are still around hopefully they have another album on the way...
Damn, I can't believe they are still around. I remember when Zoot Suit Riot came out, and people pretty much called them a one hit wonder for that song, and I jsut assumed they stopped and died out. Good thing they didn't.
this was out way before the chart smash success... of zoot suit... this is when they were a hardcore ska punk band from Eugene Oregon... but zoot suit was pretty dope for a swing tune so have to admit that

@CShroom I agree. Soul Caddy was great, but nowhere near the attitude of Kids on the Street.
Their newer one, Susquehanna is brilliant, though.

Y'know, they re-did this song on the Soul Caddy CD, and I think they did it a lot better. But this one's still pretty darn good.
Foxhengeyokai 3 years ago
I disagree. The backing vocals from this version, for instance, fit the song much better. Reminds me a little of Bad Religion.
