Hey everyone I just finished creating a math tricks website for those who need help improving mental math and basic arithmetic skills. Please check it out and let me know what you think of it. My site is mathtipsandtricks. com
@espanolmuchacho Yeah, you just have to ignore people sometimes. I'm finding my calculus class extremely useful in every day life. People just insult us programmers and mathematicians because they're not as smart as us ;) Kudos pal.
@sigmundur Glad to know there will always be a computer in front of you absolutely every instant of every day. Psht, adding, who adds anymore, why would you even bother. I'll just let a machine do it for me so I can forget and no longer be capable of doing things on my own even though I enjoy integration and differentiation.
Am i the only here who finds it more easily to do for example 106^2 in the mathematic way 106x106 and not in this way?Or also 96 x 93? Classic maths are much more easy than these tricks. You don't need tricks or a calculator to do these arithmatics.
It's so easy to time by 10 or 100 or 1000 since the answer is going to be the number with a 0 at the end for 10, two zeros for 100 and 3 zeros for 1000. that's why most people rather round the number to the nearest 10th or 100th so they can multiply more easily.
106 x 106 borrow 6 and add it to the other number. so it becomes
112 x 100 = 11200 (112 x 100 = the number (112) & two zeros at the end of it)
now we take the 6 borrowed and square it = 36. 11200 + 36 = 11236
part 2 doesn't work with some: 101 * 101 101 + 1 =102 1 * 1= 1 1021 but the answer is 10201 this is the same problem with 101, 102 and 103. with 104 it works because 4 * 4 is 16, thus 2 digits. everyone needs to remember that 100 something squared will be 5 digits! 10 something squared will be 3, 100=5, 1000=7, 10,000=9, 100,000=11, 1000,000=13 digits etc anyone notice a pattern? maths is all bullshit. the only numbers you need to know are 0,1,10, and the concept of negative numbers.x
@bhambham2 They does actually work. You just gotta get it right. see when u say 101+1 u get 102 so far we've got 102 as the answer now there is still missing 2 digits relating to the base (100) so instead of just writing 1 u have to write 01 then the calculation works :) 101*101 101+1=102 1*1=01 10201
wow what a bunch of nerds. who does this anymore? they're making computers that read ur mind so that when u think of a math problem it will have it solved before you can even react... ummm to the guy with the crush... i hope shes as big a nerd as u, cause otherwise u'll probably remain a virgin for the rest of ur life!
by the way, it is simple to extend (slightly modify) the base principle shown in these examples in order to work with any type of number, such as 215 x 218, 345^2 and so on...

You simply make it two digits by putting a 0 in front of the single digit numbers, 1 = 01. Any idiot could realize that.

@mikechec123 Um, guess who's programming those computers to be able to solve those math problems? Do I need to spell out the answer for you?
