As much as I love Uchida, Pires long ago had the corner on Mozart and still holds her own; she brings a greater variety of touch and tone, color, than any Mozart pianist I've ever heard, only to be compared to the great and singular Annie Fischer.

@Aapton She's definitely talented without doubt, and her mozart is aesthetically pleasing and natural, but I don't feel much emotional depth or warmth, much less the feeling that the music is living on its own. It rather sounds more like the music is skillfully tamed and eloquently presented by the performer. If she was an arrogant bitch like you say, I wouldn't be too surprised from this performance, and also if she's very controlling and demanding. My apologies if that's totally unfounded.
