speaking of name dropping...the king of it... is ed seelig from st. louis mo. i did not sell the (if i may?) gorgeous featherweight original 1961 cherry red dot neck 335 to dickie betts 28 years or so ago...but, i did sell it to ed seelig who sold it to ricardo. kinda silly.
@etuoo oh yeah...it is a goldtop, but the back and sides are stained dark mahogany. a '58 goldtop came with either dark or light stained back and sides. this one just happened to be dark.

Agree. I'm not the greatest guitar player and don't claim to be in any of these guys' leagues but on @ pistoia NOTRW Dickie is camping for the camera, trying way to hard on the uitar rhythm and or solos, he just looks like he's trying to impress the viewer. His son next to him is coming along but he might never get on such a stage for that size crowd other than being his father's son.

Its not the allmans fault... Dickey is just so unpredictable w/ his drinking it can drive anyone nuts and the band realized they could "Truck" on without him... no pun intended.
A shame though, Dickey is so instrumental in the band's history; rock and roll for that fact but such is life...
