I ended up buying one of these and to my ears you can get great vox tones. I will say you need a nice od pedal to boost it though because as soon as you touch the gain knob it starts losing it's charm. I use it with a boss od3 and a dd20 with great results. Plus its cheap
I do. I use it at church by placing it in a small room and mic'ing it. It sounds absolutely marvelous. It's also pedal friendly, I use enough to vouch for that as well. Of course you won't get a ton of volume if you want to keep it clean, but that's where the mic and a good pa system come in.
i have one question about vox pathfinder, is that good alternative to expensive vox ac30cc ? im playin U2 stuff... but im playin through PODxt and now i want to buy some reall amp, combo... Pathfinder has no effect loop, so how sounds delay infront of it with overdrive together?...
No, the Pathfinder is NOT a good alternative. It's a very cheap, practice amp made for bedroom playing levels. If you need a small amp, I suggest a Vox AD30VT. Get an amp with at least a 10" speaker.
thank you, but i sold my valvetronix cause of its modeling amp and it doesn work good with effects..infront of it.. Now, I just want normal combo for U2 sound.. wanna use stomp infront it (ts9, od2, delays etc) maybe some Fender can do good work too...anyway thank you for your answer man!
If 6.5 is good enough for May, Page, etc. to record with, I'm not gonna argue. It has a nice low end for a small speaker and sounds great. If you insist on a 10", get the Pathfinder 15. It's the same amp, but with a bigger speaker, reverb and a few other things as well.
would this work for band practice? would it be loud enough to be heard over drums, vocals, bass etc...? small room

@yang91387 No, I don't think it would be loud enough for that. I think you'll need about 30 watts to use with a drummer.

hi what is your fender strat exactly, which model??

Well, I guess I know what practice amp to get now! That's some (not too loud) bang for the buck right there.

Why do you think this is not a good alternative for the money? Sounds great to me
Hammy135 2 years ago
you realise you have 3 X as much money in effects gadgets as you do in the amp?

Sir,
It sounds brilliant. The Vox V810 Valvetone is, as you know, no longer made. Is there a similar unit that one can buy?
Thanks for the videos.
