l'ho sentita ieri alla radio dopo tanto tempo.... .... ..... si risvegliano i ricordi.... e la mente vola... vola... leggera.... ;) fantastica musica....
Another one from my past, love it so much and miss those halcyon days. In the blink of an eye, it seems like so so many years have passed me by. Timeless classic. Why is it so hard to make music like this again..
I never understand those people who come to these sites to bitch or have a go at others, seriously, if you don't like the music, go elsewhere. Let some of us enjoy it in peace.
There's no better music for me than the 1980s music. I take this music with me in my head and to the afterlife....Cool, huh? You know ... there's nothing... more than this.... (There doesn't have to be.) I love the music for the music's sake.
@mlandon 1963 - Maybe so, there is more, but all he might be saying is that he experienced a moment in time when everything was as it should be. Perfect. If he is talking about a moment in time, rather than a situation or even a feeling, then your argument toward him, it doesn't really matter, because the moment has moved on, but HE HAS HAD THE EXPERIENCE OF IT. But, hey, isn't it just a great song?
Beautiful melody, lyrics and musicianship from 1982. I totally agree that much of 1980’s music was the very best. Today is crap with only very few exceptions. Hermosa melodía, letras y musicalidad de 1982. Estoy totalmente de acuerdo en que gran parte de 1980 la música era lo mejor. Hoy en día es una mierda y sólo muy pocas excepciones.
I heard this on one of those television series where they go back in time and it just made go back to my youth in the 80's memories came rushing back thet I thought I had lost and a deep feeling of nostalgia. My children are now the age I was at the time life is very profound and means so much more than government money banks and greed...Lets rise up against these greedy capitalists and demand our lives back where Family and love mean so much more than money and possessions...Who's with me???
I remember sitting in a theater in Austin,Tx when visiting my friend and getting there early to watch Big Trouble In Little China. They played the whole Avalon album before the start of the movie. It's a classic from start to finish.
Although GTA Vice City was criticized for being violent, it has really changed my life in the way it made me realise just how amazing 80's music was, and still is. I'm sure most youngsters agree, this is a fine example of how a video game can change someones life for the better. Thank you Rockstar games you changed my life! I will post this comment on all the Vice City music vids i can find! :)

Avalon is one of the greatest albums ever recorded. The only problem was the length of the album. It was one or two songs short from total perfection.
A thousand emotions emit from my body when I hear this song.......The 80's, the Roxy Music phenomenon, Brian Ferry, the 80's, , The 80's, The 80's, The 80's.....etc....Great stuff...I love this song!
@folz208 Roxy Music is a 70's band. But had a big influence. Same with David Bowie. Some bands are lucky and good enouph to do different styles. And to last.

Preki12, Thats the funniest comment I've ever read on Youtube! I know where you're coming from though, I hear this song over and over again and just think 'wow!' Life is good tutto benni! Carpe Dieme and all that. Wish they made music like this these days!
I love this song since the day it went into the charts in1982 AND ROXY STILL SOUND BRILL AND ARE STILLOOKING BRILL IT S NEARLY 40 YEARS ON THEY HAVE CAPTIVATED AN WORLD WIDE AUDIENCE . CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM ON 7TH FEB
Great song. cool video. Honestly always thought Ferry/ Roxy Music as Classical / Artistic / Weird. It's a dreamy, classy song and video but it has bit of weirdness which makes him an original and interesting artist.
The music is kinda of throwaway 80's Muzak and I was going to switch off of it when I heard Bryan Ferry save the song with his singing. That is what is good about this song, his singing!
Great video! I brought the LP back in '82 and still love it. Bryan Ferry has always been super sexy. I love his expressions about 35 seconds into it- he looks like he's sucking a lemon. Just wonderful! Also, his head is huge. He's still the best. (To the people who leave negative replies- no need- I'm a big fan & think he's great. I'm just making a light hearted observation. Please don't be offended.)
Could barely hear this song on the hardware store speakers today when looking for power tools and such. Knew I had to give it a better listen at home. Instant transport into blue heaven emerald bliss.Took a few minutes to compose myself afterward for this letter of appreciation. What an energizing pause from from the rank of today. Heard this song and all of sudden I balanced my checkbook, jogged 2 miles, cleaned underneath my fridge, gave a waitress my phone number, started a tomato garden, paid for the guy behind me at the toll booth, unscrewed a light bulb all by myself, felt like $20 bucks because feeling like a million bucks would be way too uncomfortable, and came to a full complete stop at a stop sign.
@Preki12 thats one of the most beautiful things ive read in a very long time. you seem to "think" and "feel" on the same wavelength as me. im down for so long, re-hear a song that i havent heard for a while, get a boost of confidence and energy and use to to live my life the way i want to. all the best to you!

I discovered this song for the first time watching Lost in Translation. Perfect song for that movie and it has since become one of my favorites even though it's a bit depressing.
nothing but clones, wannabe's and should never have beens after this era of music explosion. To have been through the 80's was at it's true pinnacle in music history...
brian ferry is a legend, his music is so nice (not too keen on his new 2010 track mind you) but apart from that its great he has made a new comeback and im sure he will bring out some more great tunes :) i thank my dad for listening to roxy music and ferry and infulencing me lol as im only 22 years old :P
How I adore, this track and video always makes me so Emotional. This track goes through my bones and my soul it is THAt powerful. Reminds me SO much of watching COuntdown in Australia, 1982. I last saw ROxy Music in 2001 or 2002 in Australia and they DID NOT perform "More Than This" which was heartbreaking for me. I really hope that when Roxy tour OZ in Februuary, 2011 they do "More Than This", "Same Old Scene" and "Angel Eyes"... My 3 FAV'S from the masterfull Roxy Music +
old enough to remember this first time around... class... and listen.... you can understand all the words... keep your puff dad and dog called snoopy snoop doggity doawg and not so coolio.. this WAS and is awesome
Experienced Mr Ferry live in concert at World Expo '88 in Brisbane, Australia. He & his musicians and dancers were absolutely Top Notch performers! Brilliant. And let me tell you that man's charisma, sensuality, and beauty- live- were stunning. He had even my straight male friends entranced. Wish I could time machine us back there...

@lizclegg Hm, so is lady gaga and the host of today's "talents" :):):) Hell, some of them, with their ghetto tatoos and everything pierced are uglier than a nuclear war (on top ob veing naturally ugly), alas... The difference between that GARBAGE and Brian Ferry is that ugly or not, Ferry was a genius, and... "them", ugly or not, just ugly talentless trash:) That's all:):):)
"More Than This" is an example of how great music can be when it's done right.
A beautiful melodic song played by fantastic musicians, and sung by an iconic and cool vocalist. It's so much better than the majority of crap that they have out today it's almost embarrassing. Lots of teens watching on Youtube will tell you the same thing.

Pure pop - smoother than anything the 80s released for the masses. ABC came close, but not quite.

Was Bryan Ferry meant to be a sex symbol back in the day? He's so ugly
lizclegg 1 year ago
@lizclegg um no. back then it was all about the music.
mojomike 1 year ago 3
@lizclegg Hm, so is lady gaga and the host of today's "talents" :):):) Hell, some of them, with their ghetto tatoos and everything pierced are uglier than a nuclear war (on top ob veing naturally ugly), alas... The difference between that GARBAGE and Brian Ferry is that ugly or not, Ferry was a genius, and... "them", ugly or not, just ugly talentless trash:) That's all:):):)

@woody, maple, beans and qloudz, I'm glad you agreed. I just get tired of the teenage judges.
@huey, I hope you are, man. Time will tell, but that's a big pair of shoes to fill!
