Hi there. Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, I understand that a pronghorn is a pronghorn. You are correct, that are not antelope. Most people around here call them pronghorn antelope and I just typed that in years ago without even thinking of it. Thanks for the comment and for setting the record straight.
Thanks so much for stopping by & joining with me in Praising God! I appreciate your boldness, brother. To God be the glory. Are you heading out hunting this fall?
@praisehisawesomename I'm just so grateful for what he has done for me! I'm South African so hunting is in my blood. BTW, it's hunting season here in SA at the moment so you can say that i'm busy hunting.
Howdy Pardner....Yeah, I kill bucks and bulls too. I just don't have any recent video/pictures of them. It's been all cows and does the past few years!!! The freezer is loaded. Good luck hunting & thanks for stopping by!!
Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. No, this was one of the first videos I made and the quality was low. I mentioned that I drove through Berthoud on the trip but then should have mentioned the other towns leading to my destination (near Steamboat Springs). Sorry about the confusion. I hope to post many videos -this fall of the upcoming elk archery season!!! Please stop back.
Yes, I got that doe pronghorn antelope and mule deer North of Steamboat Springs and just a few miles South of the Wyoming Line. Good luck hunting & God bless!
Hi there! I've hunted elk near Craig quite a bit. I used to hunt up North of Craig (Black Mountain Area) and have seen lots of elk and taken one in that area. Good luck this hunting season and thanks for stopping by!!!!!
Hi im 15 and right now i shoot a wimpy .22 LR (i have shot a 20 gauge but im not a fan of shotguns) but i have never hunted, but my dad is going to bring me hunting soon but i don't have a deer rifle so whats a good caliber rifle that is fairly easy to shoot as far as recoil(20 gauge buck shot is not a big deal as far as recoil) and will still have enough power to take down a white tail
well i myself have a .270 and you can bearly feel it and can take a deer down in one shot at 200 yards easy. (ive done it a couple times and im also 15)
hello, i usally use a differnt gun, so heres my difernt question lol, at 60ish-70ish yards my .270 is bout 3 inches high. so would this still be riseing at 100yrds? if so is it gona be bout 3 inches high still? final question so 3 inches high at 60yrdsish how far can i shoot without compinsating? .270 savage model 110E 150gr or lets just say how far away when im gonna have to aim at the top of a broadsides back? plz and ty :)
Hi there! Thanks for visiting. I'm definitely not an expert in the field of ballistics. I've just found what works well for me and stick with it. I think, based off of my experience with my .270 Savage and 150 gr. bullets(what I use for pronghorn antelope and mule deer), that your 100 yard shot "should" be similar to your 70 yard shot. I would think you'd still be close to 3" high at 100 yards.
As far as how far you can shoot without compensating, I guess it depends on how far you need to shoot? I usually sight my .270 in at 100 yards and make it about 3 inches high because my antelope and deer shots are usually 150-275 yards away....the end result, typically, is that I hit an inch high or just about perfect. Worse case scenario...I'm hitting an inch or two low and with a big game animal, it's all in the kill zone anyway and the animal drops.
Sorry for the multiple entries...youtube only allows 500 characters. I just found this Primos forum with some great tips on sighting in a .270 with a 150 gr. bullet! Thanks for stopping by & God bless! -Todd
wow I have never seen a fellow archer from castle rock and also hunts by steamboat before on youtube, Thats crazy. Anyways good Job and goodluck on the upcoming season. Maybe we will run into each other. My names Jesse by the way in case we meet
Hi there! Nice to meet you too. Did I meet you once at Gander Mountain in Aurora? Have you been to the range there before? Good luck hunting as well. I'll be antelope hunting on September 1st and will be spending the rest of the month in pursuit of another archery elk! Good luck!!
Indeed! I just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday so the dentist has me on liquids for a few days but I AM CRAVING ELK MEATLOAF and am planning on making some tomorrow as soon as I'm allowed to eat solids!!! Thanks so much for stopping by & sharing. You blessed me.
nice animals praisehisawesomename I love hunting it is a passion for me.
as for you duckilinglover I dont get you people who take beef for granted! We dont kill animals for fun, we hunt because we are closer to god, nature, and because we get to provide clean natural protein to our friends and family. People like yourself have a skewed sense of reality these days.

Pronghorn are not antelope. That's like calling plains bison, buffalo. Just because they look the same does not mean they are.
