  • 76th Trans... Pirmasens, Truck 76-14 Jan 80 - Dec 81...

Spent 9 straight days on the road at one point. I had a hook and drop from Ramstein to TTA, 2 - 2 1/2 hrs max... I caught a back load, which led to another and another and so on, until they put an APB out on me 9 days later and told me no more loads and to get my ass back to Pirm. LOL... I preferred being on the road to back in garrison.

  • I have clean class 1 im ready to serve

  • liked it was with 109th from 81 to 83 trk# 109-135

  • I commanded 66th Trans from 1997-97, love the photo of the TAC Card !!!! GREAT video memorializing an outstanding Army unit !!!!

  • @JorgensonFamily if you only knew!...but even with all the tach winding....adaptors.....and bottles of Jack daniels to the tach calibraters in offenbach......we always got through...

  • I was in the 377th Trans. Co. "Heavy Truck (HET)" 28th Trans Bn. stationed in Mannheim Germany 81-83.

    Awesome time!

  • 1st Truck 1st Platoon Trk #T-49 1979-1981. Trailer #301 was my JINX trailer! lol. William O'Darby Kaserne, Feurth, Germany. I saw the TACHO! I DIED LAUGHING! Especially when I saw NOT A SCRATCH! Did you use the "adapter"? I got to 1st truck and was assigned to the last International for about 3 weeks, then received my M915 when we did the transfer over. Thanks for this video!

  • @LeChefPetit

Carried a 916 adapter for 3 years in my pocket at all times

  • 1ST TRUCK 1ST PLT. 1989-1992 ..1ST TRANS COULD PUT THE BEIR AWAY ..

  • @stretchtampa what unit?

  • Oh the dasterdly things we did. Man only if we had a time machine. I still remember T.J. fowler.

  • I was in 1st Trans. co. aka (1st Truck) Nurnberg 1986 to 1989... the 152nd Trans Det. aka (TT Hotel) was our home transfer point. thanks for the memories.

  • Glad its appreciated.

  • I was a Muleskinner, 109th Trans on Spinelli Barracks in Mannheim. I love this. Does anyone have anymore?

  • The muleskinners.....m818's to the use of the 915's.

I drove mules with tankers ....5 speed spicers with a crank handle slammed onto the low range gave you an 8 speed...with a 250 cummins...a lot of double clutching and toe and heel gas and braking...you could do pretty good.

  • I was in the 109th too. 94-99

  • i was station their from 87-90 76trans co ,pirmasens germany. we had lots of fun. driving up that mountain was no joke. espically on a cold snow or rainy day.the ladies were very nice(know what i mean). they loved me, i really do miss those day. i wonder if any americans r still station in pirmasens.

  • The picture of the truck # 78-10 in front of maintenance bay and the motor pool before that looks like its at Azbill Barrack in Russelsheim.

  • It is Azbill.

  • I was at 78th for almost 30 months I ended up moving alot more cargo than actual miles logged because I nearly never got the long TDY runs and staying local. Lots of FRAT and offenbach. Must have been some kinda conspiracy going on at the time to get rich for some at the time by always having a monopoly on the TDY. It only materialized when you harped on it... asking for the long runs and going to Battalion to see for yourself why no TDY. Then a few would trickle down.

  • Guizmo...when were you there?

  • @deiseldummy I was at 78th Trans from jan 87 late 89.

  • We used to hold court of "inequity "...in the basement Imbiss...

  • Cool video! I was in K-Town from 94-97 on Kleber Kaserne with 66 Trans. First under the 53d Trans Bn and then under the 28th in Mannheim. RAISE UP!!!

  • I was in the 109th From 994-1999. Was also an AMVI. Miss the ol' 28th

  • I was a mechanic for 69th trans co., 28th trans. Bat., out of Mannhiem. This video was a surprise to me. Awesome.

  • 1st truck...good guys

  • I was in the 152nd TTH from July 85 till June 87. Loved the old yarddogs their and downtown Nurenburg.

    Adams

  • Were you driver?...if so what truck?

  • I was a Mechanic at TTA at Rhein Main but went to the druivers academy and soon was driving all over Germany, Holland, and Belgium to fix the S- vans (mail trailer fleet. I was assigned a old Transstar that we oicked up from the CSG's in Nahbollenbach. It was awesome since no one read or cared about my tachograph cards since the TTA was very loosy goosey at that time.

  • We called the csg's ....CLG'S when i was there.

  • Man this brings back great memories...and I don't mean the tachograph either! The beer, the beautiful girls, the people....wow!

    R.Carr 78th Trans Co. 1972-1975
